Page 7 of Knot for You

Shelby scoffed as she shook her head, looking for a way to walk away in the tightly packed together crowd.

“You know you want me,” he leered.

Brain was never a bad guy, apparently until the weekend and after completely downing whatever was in his cup. No, he wasn’t a bad guy, but it was clear he was becoming one when he was drunk.

My lip curled.

I took a step closer to him. He licked his lips. I looked him up and down so that only he and maybe Shelby could hear meover the noise. To anyone else, it would appear I was interested, taking stock of my potential fling for the night. But they’d know.

“Hm,” I hummed.

“Changing your mind, omega? You just tell me the time and place.”

“Hmm,” I said again under his grin. “No, I don’t think so.”

He blinked. “Excuse me?”

“When I’m in heat, Brian,” I informed him slowly, so he could fully understand and get off his high horse. “I’m going to be crying out not for some gross, not to mention sexist, beta who thinks his likely very small cock is god’s great gift. I won’t be crying out for you or any of your friends. I’ll be screaming for a knot. A big, hot alpha that would please me better than I think you ever could please any girl here. Maybe you should go find one yourself if you want to be fucked that bad and take some notes.”

His mouth opened, jaw working up and down as if he couldn’t quite pick it back up from where it had fallen straight to the floor. “You— You— You’re revolting.”

Right back at you.

Brian twisted on his heel and shoved back through the crowd away from us.

Thank god.

“Woah, girl. I didn’t know you had it in you,” said Shelby.

Honestly, neither did I. I was over this week. I lifted my red cup and took another gulp of the punch inside of it.

“Be careful with that,” Shelby warned, watching me.

“What do you mean? It’s just juice.”

Shelby raised her eyebrows as she shook her head. “What you’re drinking is definitely not juice!”

What? I looked down at my cup. It was empty. “You know I can’t drink this much.”

Or rather, I shouldn’t.

“You’ll be fine.”

“Promise?” Any minute now my stupid omega body was going to act like I had three drinks instead of one. I just knew it and then it could only get worse. Who knew just how much alcohol was in this thing?

“Promise. Don’t stress. Have fun,” said Shelby. “It’s alright if you get a little… fun tonight.”

“Fun for you, or fun for me?”

She shrugged with a smile as the music changed, the beat heavy and pounding underfoot. “Depends if you dance.”

We swayed for what could’ve been two hours or two minutes. It didn’t take long for Shelby to find some of her other friends from the many different groups she was a part of, taking turns holding hands and jumping around with them.

It was odd at a party. I expected it to be fun and loud and pulsing—and it was. But it also felt quiet and empty. Singular.

Pushing back towards the edge of the room, I took a deep breath, looking around. There was a couple in the corner kissing and people milling on the stairs. My eyes were blurry, though I couldn’t be sure if it was from the low light or the double serving of punch finally getting to me.

Lifting my hand, I waved my face to try and cool down. With all the bodies it was hard for the place not to be a million degrees until I made it back towards the front door and pushed it open. A few people were out on the fraternity house’s front porch, glancing up at me as I quickly made my way down the stairs until I stood in the middle of the yard.
