Brian sputtered as they all turned away, kicking their feet with loud mutters.

My eyes caught on the broad build of the man in front of me. He wasn’t as tall as some of the others, but his presence as he turned around and scanned me as if to make sure I wasn’t hurt was all right there in front of me.

Dressed like most of the guys on campus, he at least looked slightly more put together with jeans that hugged his thighs and a button-down completely unbuttoned to reveal a white t-shirt underneath. His dark hair curled around his ears. When his eyes lifted, they bulldozed into me with a bright, striking blue.

I probably gasped a lot louder than I thought I did in my head.
