“For some reason, I planned for everything. I just didn’t plan for some omega,” said Silas. “Not that you are just some omega, but… Jake mentioned once how one day we formed the pack and we could apply for an omega. We would’ve done it the right way one day… maybe. Then you walk in smelling like that, and I knew that I would’ve flushed all my plans down the toilet right then and there, and Vera— fuck,” he swore. “I hate change, butI’ve never been so terrified of it for some reason. Because I didn’t want my family to happen again. I didn’t want you to walk away or disappear or god forbid get sick and leave us all in disrepair that it felt like no one could come back from. I wanted to protect my family just like I wanted to protect myself. And these guys are my family.”

“I understand.”

“I think you do. But I also don’t think you understand that from the moment I caught your scent on Leeson the day after he ran into you on his way to our scrimmage, I knew that you were mine. You were ours and from that second, you were my family. How could I not love the idea of having you, once and for all? I was stupid. You’re not my past. You are set to be our future. Our everything and clearly, you feel the same way for Leeson and Jacob which I saw so clearly today,” he said. “I’d seen it before but… I didn’t want to see it. The question here is that I fucked up so badly and I don’t know, could you ever forgive me for it? More than just to screw each other up more?”

“I think we did plenty of that already.”

“Yeah, me too.”

I paused as I let his words sink in. “I… I want to.”

Silence held for another second before he reached for me and I walked into him. His arms banded tight around me. His mouth tucked into my hair as he took a deep breath.

“I’ll take it. For now.”

JACOB

“What are you talking about?” I asked, hearing Leeson mumbling something to himself.

“Are you awake?” my pack mate asked, turning his attention towards me. Since when did I start snuggling with Leeson on the couch? “Great. Because we’re a pack.”

“We’ve always been a pack, what are you talking about?”

“A pack with their omega.”

Now I was nearly wide awake.

Nearly.

“You serious?” I asked, blinking my eyes open for what I thought was the fifth time tonight. Only this time, the sun was also up with me and my head throbbed just a little less than it did. “Or is this just part of the concussion?”

“She’s ours,” repeated Leeson. “It’s official. We’ll make it official even if Silas has to grovel for the rest of his life like he did last night after everyone left and you passed out.”

“Silas was on his knees groveling and I missed it? Shit.” I always missed the good parts. “You sure?”

Leeson smiled.

“Fuck yeah,” I whispered. “Is she with him right now?”

No wonder I wasn’t seeing Vera right now. She was in his bed?

How was I the last one to have our girl in his bed?

VERA

The next few days were filled with mostly just time together. The guys had mainly finished their classes so besides making sure they went to lectures that counted attendance and their study group time with the hockey team, most of the time was spent at the apartment which I was slowly starting to refer to as home.

It felt like everything was happening so soon.

But it also felt right.
