Why did this beginning of heat feel so much worse this time than it ever had before? I was a sparking flame about ready to burn everything down.

When I was finally in the right state to walk again, I quickly jogged across the room, fishing through Jacob’s locker until I found my phone in my bag.

“Vera?”

My head snapped up. It almost felt like a mirage, seeing Jacob in front of me right now. He somehow got down the steps and through the doorway and I hadn’t even noticed.

“Hey? I wondered where you went. What’s going on?” Before he fully finished asking the question, Jacob’s eyes widened at the thick cloud of scent around us that probably was even more potent to him, filled with sweet caramel. “Wow.”

“I’m sorry,” my voice broke. “I’m sorry. I didn’t think my heat would happen this fast and then?—"

He shook his head hastily as he bridged the gap between us. His eyes were blown out with darkness, yet he swallowed.

Somehow, he was still in control as he cupped one side of my face. “Don’t be sorry, sweetness. Never be sorry. I got you now. You said back at the apartment you wanted us to help you through your heat, right? You still want that?”

“Your concussion.” My one hand reached up towards the side of his head before letting it fall back down to my side.

The moment my hand touched him, especially his head, then I’d want to dig my fingers through his hair and hold him tight enough to drag him down so that I could kiss him and never stop kissing him.

I swore I just went up another degree.

“Healed. You know today is just for precaution and there is nothing in the manual that says I can’t help you.”

“You don’t have to.”

“Have to? Oh, omega, I more than have to. I want to. I need to,” he said. The deepness of his tone sent another wave of slick rushing between my thighs. “Now take off those pants and panties so that I can take the edge off before we get the other two and get out of here.”

“But the game.”

“Butyou. Fuck the game,” he said with ferocity. Then, chuckled. “Fuck the game? I’m going to fuck you and trust me when I say that there is no way you are going to talk to me about it unless the word stop or no comes out of your mouth. Do you need to say one of those, sweetness?”

My lips parted, but not a word came out. God, he was so perfect.

I wanted to cry.

“Pants off.”

There was the beginning of a growl in his voice that usually would accompany a bark, but I didn’t need one right now. I needed him. I needed my alpha so badly.

“My alpha,” I repeated the word, the world around me starting to quickly go fuzzy already.

“That’s right, sweetness.Youralpha,” he finally did growl this time.

Unbuttoning my jeans, Jacob shoved them part of the way down my hips before he backed me up against one of the lockers, hiking my leg up on the bench.

Pressing my lips together, I gasped staring up at Jacob. He only grinned eyes wide and heated as he clasped his palm around the front of my neck. He could feel me breathing and certainly just how fast my heart was beating as he held me there in front of him.

Leaning down, he kissed me hard. My mouth opened to him and he moaned almost as loud as I did when his tongue met mine. He nipped at my bottom lip while his other hand started to roam. His hand slipped under my skirt, skimming up my skin that broke out in goosebumps.

I shook at the simple touch, wanting more.

Needing more.

Jacob seemed to understand as he pushed the cup of my bra away and circled my nipple with his thumb, gently pinching.

I cried into his mouth.

“Oh yeah, you like that my, little omega, don’t you? You need me to take care of you?”
