I gave him a dry look. “Do you like me shirtless?” I laughed all the way to my setup.

Goofy men.

My familiars were so awesome.

Sometimes it was hard to watch my older brother act as Larissa’s only man. Mostly it was my own gut reaction to want to boast I’d caught a woman like her too.

The first days of the expansion were hard, but after she’d made me her familiar too, it was much easier, and we went back to it being just us doing a lot of the work.

But a month later they were back to lay the foundation of the next greenhouse. We’d gotten the first two up, the addition was done, andallthe fencing with the spell surrounding her farm… Our home.

And it really had become our home. We were all blossoming in our roles too and it was all because of Larissa. She would say it was all because of us but we’d had each other all of our lives and this happiness only started since meeting her.

Though I could understand from her perspective it was us coming into her life. Jesse—always the peacemaker—declared it was the combo and additions to our lives and everyone accepted that.

There were times being her lover in public wasn’t easy as Larissa was hot and got a lot of attention.

“Sparkles, you’re going to get burned,” Jackson growled as he went over to her and put her long-sleeved cover-up around her shoulders.

And a ridiculously huge sun hat.

She gave him an amused look but slid her arms in the sleeves. “I’ve been out here two seconds and I’m wearing sunscreen.” She smirked at him. “I thought you liked all the little sun dresses?”

Wealldid. Her scars were mostly gone now, and she was slowly becoming bolder in her clothing options. We loved it because she was more confident.

She’d never be a social butterfly, and that was okay, we liked our sexy introvert. But it was nice to see her becoming proud of who she was.

“I do, but I don’t want your gorgeous skin getting hurt,” he murmured, nuzzling her neck as he wrapped his arms around her. “You got so burnt last time that it killed me.”

I swallowed a shiver. It had all of us. She’d been wiped from working and had just laid down on the picnic blanket after lunch to watch us work, but the sun had shifted and fried her so bad it was ridiculous.

“You enjoyed rubbing lotion on me,” she teased.

“I enjoy rubbing sunscreen and moisturizer on you, but not when you’re hurt.” He sighed when she just nodded, hoping he got through to her.

It was seriously his thing though. He had such a thing about touching her skin and rubbing whatever she let him all over her.

“How long have you guys been together?” one of the workers asked, frowning at where Jackson was holding her.

“Forever,” she chirped, batting her eyelashes at him. “Oh, I’m sorry, I thought you asked how long wewillbe together? That’s the answer.”

“You tell him, sparkles,” Jackson chuckled. “I’m not ever letting you go.”

She pulled him away and eyed him over. “You even try it and I will chain you to my bed, Jackson Baker. I’m already miffed there’s not a ring on my finger yet.”

She walked off and I wasn’t the only one whose mouth fell open.

She wanted an engagement ring? Hot damn.

“It makes sense,” Jesse muttered as he moved up next to me. “We’re already bonded forever and we know that but others don’t, so it’s like skipping steps again.”

“Yeah, I was just thinking she’d have less admirers trying for her if she had a fucking ring on.”

Jesse threw back his head and burst out laughing. “Jackson will have one tomorrow when he figures that out.”
