“No,” I confess. “I really don’t.”

The sisters look at each other in disbelief.

“Really?” Kiki cocks her head.

“Yes, really,” I hiss back, feeling my neck and face burning. I must be the color of Angel’s red lips right about now.

“Don’t worry,” Kiki smiles, lowering her voice. “We’ll help you.”

“In our world,” Kitty begins in a hush, leaning forward. “There are two types of women. The old ladies and the-”

“Hey, guys,” Kiki says quickly, looking over my head as she elbows her sister.

I feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end and I turn my torso around to see who’s behind me.

I should have known. I could feel it in my body even before I saw them. Zeke and Rex grin down at me and I can’t help but smile back at them. Zeke is clad in black jeans and a leather vest that I can only assume has a Grim Rider’s patch on the back. He’s not wearing a belt and his jeans are slung so low that I can see where his hip bones jut out beneath his washboard abs. Colorful, retro-style tattoos adorn not only Zeke's arms, but also his chest and abdomen. The overall effect is enough to turn any girl into a puddle of mush.

If Zeke weren’t enough, there’s olive-skinned Rex. His white smile is blinding, and he oozes genuine charm. It’s completely different from the phony church manners that I’m used to. Rex’s eyes are a stunning, gold-flecked green and he looks boyish, despite the touches of gray at his temples. He’s wearing blue jeans, a black t-shirt, and his usual leather jacket.

“Goldie,” Rex says. “You look beautiful.” He winks at the sisters on the other side of the picnic table. “With a little help from these young ladies, I see.”

Kiki and Kitty both beam back at him.

“It’s all Kitty and Kiki,” I laugh. “Honestly.” I turn back around to face the table and hide my flush, but Zeke straddles the bench seat next to me. He leans in until his lips brush against my ear.

“You look so fucking good,” Zeke whispers, and it sends shivers along my spine.

I stare into his blue eyes after he pulls away.

“Thank you,” I whisper.

Zeke stares back at me, unafraid to meet my gaze. He’s so gorgeous but I can see wildness in his eyes. The corners of his lips turn up slightly.

“We’ve got to get you ladies some drinks,” Rex announces, peering over to look at the empty tabletop. “Sodas, ladies?” He lifts an eyebrow as he looks at Kitty and Kiki.

“Yes,” Kiki replies as Kitty sticks out her lower lip.

Rex runs his fingers along my shoulder, and it almost makes me shiver.

“What about you, Goldie?”

“Um,” I stammer until Zeke grins and swings his leg over the bench to stand.

“I’ve got you, babe. I’ll take care of it,” Zeke taps Rex on the arm. “Let’s go, man. I’ll help you.”

Kiki watches until the guys walk out of earshot.

“They all seem to like youa lot,” She whispers, putting her elbows on the table to lean closer.

“I haven’t seen them like this since,” Kitty trails off but stares pointedly at her sister.

Since what? Since who?I want to ask some clarifying questions, but suddenly the crowd begins to clap and lets out whoops and whistles.

“Lulu’s here!” Someone yells and I notice a tall, striking woman dressed in tight black jeans and a black tank top waving her arms as she walks closer.

“Let’s get this party started!” The lady hollers, stopping to place one hand on her cocked hip. She must be in her sixties, at least, but Lulu has a figure thatanywoman would envy. She’s statuesque and slim, with tanned skin and long blonde hair.

The crowd cheers and several people lift their cans of beer in the air. Zeke, with his head ducked, and Rex walk around the edge of the grass to deliver the table our drinks.
