“We're here!”

“Miri,” he hurries to arrive, stumbling over a branch. “Damn it!”

“I haven't forgiven you yet!” Miriana stands up, “and I'll cut both your dicks off if you try this again without my knowledge.”

Dean pulls her into a hug, with a laugh, “Sorry, little one, but it's all his fault.”

Miri punches him in the side, “don't even try.”

“Sorry,” he chuckles, “I take responsibility. Selfishly I confess I haven’t put myself in your shoes, but I told you that you'll be ours forever, little one. Even if we acted behind your back, but I promise we won't do it again,” Dean whispers. I nod and take her hand approaching to hug them too.

This is home.

Epilogue

Four months later

My heart is racing as I stare at my reflection, my hands resting on my growing belly. It's the day of the ultrasound and the anticipation is electric. Taking in my pale features, my eyes are lit with anticipation. I can't help but replay everything that led me to this moment.

The first encounter with Kyle still rings in my mind like it was just yesterday. His eyes scanned me as if trying to read my very soul. Our first kiss, so intense and passionate it left me breathless.

I recall the sleepless nights waiting for his messages during his deployments. Every time my phone buzzed, my heart would leap, hoping it was him. Then there was my jealousy when he began seeing that redhead after he returned from a mission. I wonder now if that was Greta, the girl he dated briefly before we got serious. How could I have forgotten about her?

But that memory quickly fades, replaced by the recollection of a heated argument we had. A conversation where I saw the real Kyle, his fears, his depth. It was then that I fell head over heels for him. Hellfire, our wedding, travels–each memory is a treasure I hold dear. And then there's Dean. His beaming smile, his pure energy. I remember our coffee breaks during shifts, just enjoying each other's company.

As I prepare for the ultrasound, I'm filled with an odd mix of emotions. I'm anxious, yet also excited. Life is about to take a twist I can't even fathom. And I welcome it.

My heart flutters when I feel his arms envelop me. I glance at the mirror and see Kyle's reflection. I hadn't noticed him enter the room.

He plants a gentle kiss on my head, “What's on your mind?” he asks, his voice filled with concern.

“She said I stole you from her,” I whisper, my voice shaking.

His brows furrow in confusion. “Who?”

“Greta. She accused me of taking everything from her, first you and then Dean.” I sigh heavily, a knot forming in my stomach.

Kyle looks taken aback, his eyes wide with shock. “What? That's nonsense! I remember every woman I've been with, and she wasn't one of them.”

“She had a thing for you, Kyle. What if...” I swallow hard, “Remember our fight?” The first and only one we've had in all these years. That time when jealousy consumed me.

“Yeah, that was about Taylor,” he replies, rolling his eyes. “And that fight will always stick with me because it made me realize how scared I was of losing you. But Greta and I were never an item, ever. I don't even think we spoke before Dean introduced her as his girlfriend.” He pulls me close, kissing my neck and stroking my belly. “You're my everything.”

“I love you.” It's redundant, I know, but it's the only thing I can say. It was with him that I learned what love truly is.

“Ready to take a peek at our little princess?” Kyle grins, his eyes brimming with emotion.

I roll my eyes, turning to face him. “Why are you so sure it's a girl?”

“Because I want a little troublemaker just like you.” He grins, planting a light kiss on my lips.

“Dean wants a boy, though,” I point out, shrugging.

“Next time then.”

“Next time?” I echo, both incredulous and amused. “I haven't even given birth to this one yet and you're already planning on the next?”

“Little ones,” Kyle corrects, his smile mischievous. “I want a bunch of 'em.”
