His gaze flicked to Killian in front of me before cautiously landing on me.

“Hey Laura. I like your glasses.”

Oh shit. I had completely forgotten I was wearing them. I risked a quick glance at Killian while I pushed the frames higher. His jaw was locked, glaring at his vice president.

“You brought food and coffee?” I asked, moving closer to the counter and hoping to break the tension in the room.

Giles stepped back, eyeing the man at my back once more as if he were worried Killian had adopted some strange superpowers to maim anyone who talked to me.

I sipped the coffee, moaning delightedly. “You are the best; you have no idea how badly I needed this.”

His smile crept in, lighting up his roguish features. He had thick golden hair the color of wheat that was always styled in a way that made him look like he was about to start a photo shoot; it was messy and chaotic but still gorgeous. He was shorter than Killian, just barely taller than me, but he was built like a truck with defined muscles and a smattering of ink to cover them. Currently, he wore his black leather jacket with his patches, with a brown t-shirt underneath and distressed jeans.

He honestly gave me big brother vibes more than anyone else in the club.

His warm brown eyes landed on me in a sisterly way, as though he were happy that I was caffeinated and wanted to see if we could go find some trouble now that I could function.

With a sweet laugh, he muttered, “Prez bought it.”

I spun on my heel, giving Killian a quizzical raised brow.

“Keep looking at me like you’re not sure if you want to fuck or slap me, and I’ll take you back upstairs to settle it, Daisy.”

My face erupted in flames, and thankfully, Giles was at my back so he couldn’t see.

“Thank you for the coffee,” I deadpanned.

He reached around me, his long arm brushing mine. “Got you those scones you like too.”

Ohmygosh. I dug into the bag like a badger.

I loved Natty’s scones.

I bit into it and was about to let out another delighted moan when Killian stepped around me and covered my mouth.

“You gotta stop that shit when other members are here, unless you want me to kick Giles out.”

I licked his palm to get him to release me and then shoved away from him.

“You’re so insanely rude, Killian.”

“And you’re so insanely hot, which causes a lot of fucking problems. So if you could just take your food and go upstairs, I would really appreciate it.”

He was an asshole, but I was hungry, and he’d fed me.

“Fine.” I grabbed the bag, and my coffee, and started back toward my room, but right before I hit the top of the stairs, I heard Giles ask, “Does Wes know how bad this has gotten?”

Killian grumbled in response, “Wes can go fuck himself. He doesn’t call the shots anymore.”

Giles let out a sigh. “Not going to comment on that, but you were two seconds from grabbing my throat. It needs to be handled, Kil. And soon.”

Killian didn’t respond.

I tried to make sense of what they were saying, but the only thing that kept coming back to my mind was the idea of him moving in. If he was moving in then I needed to move out, simple as that. He’d already said I was a complication for him, maybe there was an attraction there he just didn’t like. Who knew, but he didn’t want me here.

I needed to figure something out because I knew as much as I hated Killian Quinn, I hated the idea of hearing or seeing him with anyone else even more.
