When none did, we each breathed a sigh of relief.
Aurora’s head rested on my chest, her breaths rhythmic and comforting against my skin.
Breaking the silence, I found my voice. “Aurora,” I began, “What do you want to do now? Do you want to return to your home planet?”
She propped herself up on one elbow, looking deep into my eyes. “Honestly? After everything we’ve been through, all I want is to see the universe. With you.”
Her words warmed my heart. I felt a surge of joy and relief. “I’ve traveled across galaxies, encountered numerous species, and seen wonders you can’t even begin to imagine,” I said, my voice filled with wonder. “But there’s nothing I want more than to share all of that with you.”
Aurora snuggled up close, her fingers tracing patterns on my chest. “There are so many things I want to see, experiences I want to have. But I want to experience them with you, Jayas.”
I hugged her tight, the enormity of the moment settling over us. “Sightseeing across galaxies it is, then.”
We lay there, thinking of all the planets we would visit, the adventures we would embark on, and the life we would build together.
It was the beginning of our own story, one of exploration, love, and shared experiences.
As our pod ventured deeper into the galaxy, the universe spread out before us, filled with infinite possibilities.
