Aurora was terrified, but I was at my ease.
Already, I had seen the gas begin to filter in through the vents.
No doubt the Xerok had seen it too, which was why he had worked himself up into a frenzy.

Two lights now adorned my pod, casting a dreamy aura over the other pods.

Outside, I could hear the agitated roars and shouts of the other alien males.

Yet, inside our sanctuaries, everything was calm and serene.
Aurora pointed at the lights adorning my pod and I nodded victoriously.
Just one more and this whole spectacle would be over and I would be free to Claim Aurora whenever I wished.
I pulled off the medicine patches that were still attached to my body, leaving them on the pod floor.
Their work was done, and I was back to full strength, ready to face the challenges outside.
Aurora smiled at the sight.
It was thanks to her I felt powerful again.
The countdown continued, its monotone voice echoing through the chamber.
It was no longer a countdown to hell, but a countdown to freedom.
Every tick brought us closer to the moment we would be released from this glass prison and be together, without any barriers.
Outside, the other alien males grew more restless.
Their impatience was clear in their movements, their anger fueled by our growing bond.
The final seconds approached, and I felt a surge of energy coursing through me.
I was ready to face whatever lay ahead, with Aurora by my side.
Our bond was our shield, and nothing could break it.
