I quickly positioned myself behind the pod, waiting for the right moment.

The alien’s approach was loud and obvious.

I tightened my grip on the shard, readying myself.

As the alien rounded the pod, I lunged, thrusting the shard towards him.

The element of surprise worked in my favor as the shard connected, causing the alien to stumble back with a roar of pain.

Without waiting to see the extent of the damage, I took off running again.

The dense forest eventually gave way to rocky terrain, making it harder to navigate, but also providing potential hiding spots.

I scrambled up a rocky outcrop, hoping to lose the alien or, at the very least, get a few more moments of reprieve.

From my vantage point, I could see the vast expanse of the arena.

Off in the distance, there was another figure moving rapidly.

It couldn’t be Jayas.

Not with him having thrown himself over the edge and me not resetting this round yet.

Then a shadow loomed over me.

The alien had found me again.

I braced myself, ready to fight with every ounce of strength I had left.

Five minutes,I thought.Just five minutes.

It was a lifetime in such a place as this.

The forest came alive with eerie sounds — the rustling of leaves, the crunch of broken twigs, the distant howl of some unfamiliar creature.

But the most immediate and threatening sound was the determined footsteps of the beast closing in on me.

Despite my best efforts to throw it off, this alien was smarter and far more relentless than the last.

Every time I thought I’d lost him, I’d catch a glimpse of his looming figure from the corner of my eye, or hear the ominous, muffled sounds of his movements.

Panic bubbled inside me, adrenaline pumping into my bloodstream with every heartbeat, urging me to run faster, think sharper.

The terrain changed from a dense forest to a jagged, rocky clearing.

At first, it seemed like an opportunity; maybe the uneven ground would slow him down.

But as I ventured further, it quickly became obvious that I’d made a fatal error.

The clearing ended abruptly, leading to a steep cliff drop.

There is no way out.

My breaths came out ragged and fast, my body trembling from exhaustion and fear.

Turning around, I saw the alien beast, his eyes locked onto mine, gleaming with anticipation.
