He knew I was cornered.

The wind whipped my hair around as I backed up towards the edge of the cliff, the drop behind me looming ominously.

Each step the beast took forward, I took one back, until I felt the edge beneath my heels.

Tears pricked at my eyes. “Jayas, I’m sorry,” I whispered to myself, my voice barely audible against the howling wind.

He had asked me to wait five minutes before resetting this round but I simply didn’t have any other options but to end it now.

My only way out was to leap over the arena’s edge and begin this whole round again.

I only hoped Jayas had managed to do whatever he needed with less time.

Just as I thought it was over, a desperate idea came to mind.

It was crazy but with the limited time and options available, it was just about the only thing I could think of.

I screamed as loudly and as piercingly as I could.

Not out of fear, but as a call for help, a signal to the other beast I had successfully evaded earlier.

I knew it was in the area.

But was it close enough to make any difference?

It was a long shot, but it was all I had.

For a moment, there was silence, except for the rush of wind and the distant sounds of the arena.

The monster closed on me and I shifted my weight to sprint toward the void.

Then, like an echo to my own scream, a guttural roar answered, coming from the dense foliage.

The beast in front of me paused, looking around, confusion evident in his predatory eyes.

That was when the second alien beast, the one I had escaped earlier, charged out of the forest, slamming into the first with all its might.

They crashed to the ground, a tangled mess of limbs and fury.

Their roars echoed around the clearing, filling the air with tension and animosity.

The ground shook with the force of their battle, each beast trying to establish dominance over the other.

My heart was in my throat as I watched the two behemoths brawl, their roars resonating through the clearing.

It was both a spectacle of raw power and a dance of dominance.

I was trapped; the sheer size of the creatures blocked my only way out.

Each clash, each thundering collision of their massive bodies seemed to shake the very earth beneath me.

Desperation fuelled creativity.

My eyes darted around, looking for a way out.

The cliff’s wall loomed behind me.

Though uneven and jagged, it appeared nearly impossible to climb, especially under such pressure.
