Peyton groaned. “Mama duty calls.”

“Don’t worry about it, Daddy will step in while you go have a hot shower.” I smacked a kiss to her neck, a swell of masculine pride at the way she shivered underneath me.

“Damn.” She grinned up at me. “I must’ve rocked your world.”

I laughed. “You always do, babe.” I pulled back and rolled over onto my back.

“Mama! Mama!”

I laughed. “She’s a terror.”

Peyton chuckled as she slipped from the bed, her gorgeous naked body all I saw as she headed for the bathroom. “She’s just like her daddy,” she added, giggling when I tossed one of those dainty little useless pillows at her.

“You love it,” I insisted.

“I do. I love you too. Now go make Rosie breakfast before she calls child services on us.”

I laughed, but the minute I heard the shower, I sat up and put on a pair of boxes and pajama pants. Daddy duty had officially begun. “Come on, you little monster, let’s go scrounge up some breakfast,” I said when I opened the door.

Rosie giggled, and that sound never failed to put a smile on my face.

I didn’t know what the hell I did to get the family I had, but every damn day I was grateful for them.

“Uncle Gio says I’m a princess, not a monster.”

“Uncle Gio is an idiot, but he’s not wrong. You’re a monster princess.” I tossed her over my shoulder and rushed down the stairs towards the kitchen. “Pancakes or omelet?”

“Yes!”

I laughed. Just like her daddy. “That was an either, or question baby.”

“Yes! Yes! Yes!” she giggled. “I want omelet pancakes!”

“Omelet it is, with lots and lots of veggies.”

“Veggies?” She groaned, which yanked another laugh from me as I dumped her down in the kitchen and began preparing breakfast.

“Veggies are good for you. How else will you grow bigger than Alex?”

“You’re bigger than Mama.”

“That’s cos I ate all my veggies. And don’t you wanna grow up big and strong like me?”

“I’m a girl, Daddy.”

I rolled my eyes and finished chopping the veggies. “I love you too, Rosie.”

She giggled. “Daddy.”

The back door opened, and Nolan entered with Alex on his heels. “Morning, Dad. What’s up, Rosie?”

She beamed a smile at her brother, scrambling off the chair to wrap her arms around him. “Nolo!” She pulled back and greeted Alex with the same enthusiasm, though my grandson didn’t appreciate it as much as her brother. “Hi! Daddy’s making omelets.”

“Perfect timing.” Nolo grinned and removed their coats. “Need some help?”

“Nope, just tell me what’s new.”

Nolan and I talked for a while, and soon enough Peyton came down with Roscoe, smiling at the unexpected guests.
