“Nolo.” She grinned wide and wrapped her free arm around him in an affectionate hug. “What brings you by?”
“Omelets.”
She laughed and knelt down to hug Alex. “How’s my big boy doing?”
“Good,” he shouted, and smacked a kiss to her cheek before stealing a peek at the baby. “Roscoe!”
I couldn’t help but smile at the wacky-ass family we’d created over the past few years. A wife and two more kids that will soon require a bigger house, a bunny, a cat, and a parrot. Specifically, those three animals, according to Rosie.
It was a full life, one I didn’t even know to dream of after things went to shit with Nolo’s mom, but now I had this big, wonderful family and my only job was to love them and protect them.
“I have church in an hour, so everybody eat up!” The table was loaded with omelets, bacon, toast, and even a few waffles because Rosie was Daddy’s little girl, and I couldn’t say no to her.
“Thanks, babe.” Peyton kissed my cheek and brought maple syrup, ketchup, and hot sauce to the table. Plus juice and milk. “It smells wonderful.”
“My pleasure.” I gripped her hips and pulled her close for another searing kiss that set my skin on fire.
“Come on, guys, we’re trying to eat,” Nolan groaned, laughing when Rosie and Alex joined in.
Yeah, this was my family.
Crazy and loud and perfect.
