“Why are you acting so cold, Vinny?” Angelina whined. The sudden blast of air had her nipples standing at attention.

“Do you want to get fired again?” I asked, reminding her how things went down the last time she got too possessive.

Angelina pouted and rolled her eyes. “Every day, you show me how little you care.”

I shook my head. “I never pretended to care about you.”

Her eyes narrowed. “You’ve found someone else. Is it that new girl?”

I raked my fingers through my wet hair. “Neither of you are sucking my dick, how about that as a solution?”

Snarling, she flipped her hair and marched out.

I sat in the conference room listening to the Governor talk about the party she wanted to have at our casino. Movement caught my attention through the window, and I saw Nyla talking and laughing with Jerry, the security guard. I hated to admit it, but I didn’t like seeing her interact with another man.

There was no doubt of her beauty. Her silky, amber-brown skin, plush lips, soft eyes, and sexy curves would have any man begging to taste her. But that way lay danger.

“What do you think?” Elio’s question pulled me from my thoughts.

“Huh?”

“The governor asked if you agreed to the plans?” Elio explained. He was the liaison for the transfer of funds and signing of contracts.

I snorted softly. Like I had a fucking choice in the plans. As soon as the governor left, I’d deal with my brothers. “If the contract looks good, we can move forward.”

I stood and left the room with Angelina chasing behind me like a frisky puppy.

“Vincenzo, wait!” She clamored to catch up.

“Keep up.”

Snatching my arm, she turned me to face her. “What happened back there?”

I pushed her hand away. “Nothing.”

“Something did, because you’ve been snippy all day.”

“Cancel my lunch. I have plans,” I said, ignoring her question. I pulled out my cell and texted my driver to be ready in five minutes.

“Where are you going? Or should I ask, who are you going to lunch with?” she asked as we reached the elevator.

Angelina was intent on meeting my parents and ensured she was around when my mother came to my office one day for lunch.

I cocked my head. “None of your business.”

I rode down in the elevator and hopped in the waiting car. My cell chimed with a group chat text. My brothers wanted to meet at Calabresi Holdings, which wasn’t far from the casino. When my driver arrived, I got out of the car and shook hands with the doorman as I went inside, spying Sante and Savio talking.

Sante frowned. “You're late.”

“Traffic,” I mumbled.

Savio led the way upstairs to his office.

“Elio is sending the contract for the governor’s party,” I informed him.

We all sat as Renato and Elio joined us, and Sante started the meeting.
