“All of our wives are caught up in your girl's bullshit, and if something happens to Sonya, I’m personally holding your wife accountable.” Renato ended the call before I could respond.

“Did she say where they're going?”

Carter sent a message to the team. “No, I assumed you knew.”

“Call Rena on my phone.”

After picking up my cell, he dialed her from my contact list, and I listened while it rang. It went straight to voicemail, and I told him to dial again.

“She’s not picking up,” Carter informed me, taking the phone from his hand and making another call.

I pressed my foot on the gas, blowing through the light and getting on Highway 41.

“Renato called me already,” Sante answered without saying hello.

“Are you tracking Rena’s phone?”

“She’s at the Jazz Showcase club,” Sante responded.

After swerving in traffic, I stepped on the brake. “I’m ten minutes away.”

“Savio wants to be updated as soon as you have her,” Sante said.

After hitting the end-call button, I shoved the phone in my pocket and slowed down. After pulling up, I slammed the car into park and jumped out with my team behind me. I saw Renato stomp down the block next to Elio. Sante arrived in the parking lot, shaking his head at me. I placed my hand on Renato’s chest, blocking him from moving forward.

“Let me handle it.”

Pushing my hand down, he said, “You have five minutes before I burn the place down.” Renato walked alongside me, scanning the room.

Searching for Nyla, my eyes shot to a group of women in the back corner and a man laughing at something Nyla said. “She’s out of her mind.” I stalked through the room, and Elio rushed and jumped in front of me. Sonya saw us and tried to grab Nyla’s hand.

Elio said, “We're in public, keep your cool.”

“Move.”

Stepping out of my way, Elio threw his hands in the air.

Leaning down, I whispered in her ear. “Get up.”

Nyla froze in place. “What are you doing here?”

“Either you get up now or find out what I will do.”

“Who are they?” the man next to Nyla pried.

“That’s her husband,” her friend Cassandra mumbled.

He stuck his hand out at me, and I glared at it.

Nyla slowly stood up, pressing her hand on my chest. “Vincenzo, please try to be calm.”

“Nyla, are you alright? Do you need me to go with you?” Cassandra reached for her hand.

“Renato, leave me alone. We just wanted to have a girls’ night out,” Sonya argued, propping her hand on her hip.

While snarling at her, he wrapped a hand around her neck, pulling her in close. “Who are you talking to like that?” Renato asked before he pecked her on the lips.

Rolling her eyes, Rena jumped up, blocking me and Nyla. “She’s with us, Vinny.”
