“Yeah?”

“I have Angelina here wanting to talk to you,” my assistant informed me.

“Tell her to leave.”

“Sir, I tried, but she refused to leave,” my assistant complained.

“Get Security.”

My assistant growled. “Yes, Sir.”

“What happened?” Sante asked as I tucked my phone in my pocket.

“Angelina’s acting stupid.”

“Seems like she’s becoming a problem.” Sante walked to the left passenger door, I hopped in the back.

“She’s not my problem.”

Turning my phone on silent, I slide it back in my pocket and watch my men put Cono in the car and pull into traffic.

“Renato riding with them?” I pressed for confirmation from Sante.

“He’s going to make sure that we get him to talk,” Sante explained. While reading over emails, I listened to Sante and Savio discuss the kids having a playdate soon.

“Watch it!” Romo shouted, swerving to the right.

I dropped my phone on my lap. Looking up, I saw two cars box in Renato’s van at the light, yank the door open, and stick a gun to his head. They removed Cono from the back. Six masked men rushed to get him in the back of their car, then drove off quickly.

“Turn around!” I shoved the door open, about to jump out, when I felt a hand on the back of my jacket, pulling me back inside.

Romo was driving backwards, stopping traffic so we could get to Renato, right as one of the men lifted the gun in the air.

“Get down!” I ran to the back and helped Sante cover Savio, as he helped Renato out of the van.

Renato paced back and forth in anger, holding an ice pack to the back of his head, annoyed at being caught so easily. All of us had come to my parents’ home to regroup and figure out who they’d sent to take Cono away.

“I promise as soon as we catch them, they're all dead.” Renato shouted.

“Calm down before you scare the women.” I glanced in the backyard at the women talking and laughing.

“How many men were there?” Pops probed.

“Six, I counted six,” I responded, standing next to Pops in the hallway.

“We need to talk to Nyla.”

“No.”

“Not up for debate. She’s closer to him,” my father said.

I pinned my arms over my chest. “She’s still holding love for him.”

My father stood firmly. “That can work in our favor.”

Renato dragged on the cigar. “She’s going to be pissed when she finds her real family.”

“I want Nyla far away from Cono.”
