"You too."

As the call ended, I thought, that if only I had called the man who was good with his fingers, I wouldn't have had to deal with Bruce.

"Good morning, Dr. Hill," Alex greeted me. Alex Doe was in his late fifties and the head of HR at my hospital. Also, a fantastic dentist, adored by his colleagues and his patients…wonderful ally.

"Good morning, Alex," I greeted back with a warm smile. "Do you have any news for me?"

"Yes, the applicant will be coming in today," he answered.

"Perfect," I said and nodded.

"Are you sure you don't want any of his information?" he asked.

"You know how I love my interviews," I asserted. "I don't want a sneak peek into their lives, until I see them in person first."

"I know. There are no problems, and when he gets here, I'll let you know," he said.

"Alright, thank you so much for your efforts," I offered.

"It's nothing to thank me for," he insisted. "I'm just doing my job."

He gave a warm smile and left to attend to his duties for the day.

"If only some men were like him and Sebastian," I sighed.

Or like Bruce? No, not Bruce.

I made my way to the emergency ward and other wards as well to make sure there wasn't anything too serious for the staff to handle alone. Thankfully, there wasn't anything for me to worry about.

The applicant in question was a doctor to assist me with managing the second hospital. I felt the need to focus on my older hospital, but I needed the second one to enjoy proper management. I wanted Alex to manage it, but he was retiring soon, so there wasn't any need to bother him with that role.

I didn't want to know who the applicant was or what he looked like. He was the only participant who had successfully passed Alex's interview, so I was confident in their ability to perform. I checked my handbag for my lipstick and found the card from last night.

"Please fuck me."

"I'll be a good girl."

"No, no, no, I'll behave. I promise."

My cheeks turned red as I realized how much I had embarrassed myself.

"But it felt good," I had to admit.

I said I didn't want to see him again, but a part of me just needed an excuse to kick him in the balls for making me utter all those noises.

The applicant was meant to arrive by nine in the morning. I had already attended to some patients and was going through medical records when my office line beeped.

"Yes?" I answered.

"Ma'am, the applicant is here," Alex informed me. "I think he'd be at your door by now."

Just then, there was a knock on my door.

"Looks like he's here," I said. "I'll take it from here."
