There was fighting, outside of the family and between Isotta and Massimo. He was bound and determined to break her, make Isotta more pliable so she would be obedient. Isotta understood the need to be a dutiful wife and she even accepted it; yet, she didn’t understand the dominance that would be a part of her life. Isotta needed to love him, to withstand. Massimo needed her to love him, too, and then he became convinced that he needed to love her as well. But Massimo didn’t only need dominance in his house, he demanded it outside of his home as well. Massimo had it in business too because it was necessary. Fighting commenced and then it was settled, but not without challenges.
