Satans Serpents.

Why was a motorcycle gang looking for her?

“KATERINA!” The man shouted again as I inched further into the hallway.

“It’s Hamish.” She said behind me and I raised an eyebrow at that before he came around the corner, straight into my line of sight.

Followed behind him was the young man from the café who looked terrified but determined.

“What have you done with her?” Hamish snarled and I glanced at her over my shoulder, seeing her sigh before she stepped out from behind me.

“Katerina…” He said softly before he went to rush to her and she held up a hand, her eyes hard.

“Stop. Don’t come any closer or I’ll let Alexsei shoot you.” She said and Hamish glanced at me, then frowned at her.

“Kat… I was so worried are you okay?” The other man said, relief clear in his eyes as he took a step then stopped when she stepped back.

“Riley, stop.” She whispered and I saw the pain in his eyes. He loved her, that much was clear and from the looks of the other man, he did too.

“I don’t understand. I need to know you are okay. What happened? Leo is on his way.” He added and she looked conflicted.

“I was taken. I woke up in the van and fought for my life. The van crashed and I came here because I didn’t know who else to trust.” She said softly and I noticed one of the younger men come toward Hamish with a hard glance at me before whispering in his ear.

They looked similar and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were brothers.

“You came to the man who you have said is your enemy, someone who shot at you a few days ago instead of coming to us?” Riley said, confusion and hurt clear as day on his face.

“I was taken from the fight, Riley. A fight that all three of you conveniently decided to attend and take me along with you after you have all inserted yourselves into my life.” She said with more anger than necessary, though I understood her suspicion.

“Katerina…” another man came jogging through the door and I groaned. All this commotion was surely going to attract attention and my cover was at risk of being blown now.

“Can you tell your men that they are no longer needed here, please? This is a delicate matter and they are causing a scene. We can all sit down in my den and discuss this like civil people.” I said to them, getting glares from all three men.

I put the gun down, tucking it into my waistband then held up my hands.

“I am not a threat. Sit and we will discuss.” I said again, looking at Katerina. She was right to not trust anyone but these three men looking at her like lost puppies weren’t her enemy.

“Fine. Tommy, take your men and go to Katerina's place. Check on our mother too.” He said softly, confirming that they were brothers.

“Shall we?” I said, indicating the huge lounge room I had built specifically for these kinds of business meetings.

I watched them all file in, each casting a longing glance at Katerina, looking her over head to toe before glaring at me.

I guess things were about to get far more interesting.

Twenty three

Katerina

Isat on one of the couches across from Riley, Leo, and Hamish, not sure if I should trust them yet.

Riley kept sending me sad puppy dog eyes like I had done something to hurt him. Hamish was unreadable and Leo was point blank glaring at Alexsei, though he was a little more personal with the man after the shoot-out.

Leo had dried blood on his face and a bruise forming on his cheekbone and a jacket over the top of his boxing gear, telling me he must have come directly from the ring.

But how did they find me and if they did, that means others would too.

Alexsei sat next to me, placing his gun on the coffee table in front of us and a bottle of vodka and shot glasses.
