“Oh, Angel—”

There’s a knock on the door interrupting him. He covers me back up, looking at me with loss in his eyes.

“Come in,” he grumbles as he stands between me and the door. Duncan and Maya enter, both pushing past him to give me kisses. Maya drops a bag on the window seat.

“How are you, sis?” Duncan looks at me carefully.

“I'm feeling much better. Look at Joshua's picture of Isabella.” I change the subject.

“Hey, that’s cuter than our picture of her,” Maya says.

“Yes. Well, I am the dad,” he says with so much pride.

“So you two worked it out? I don't have to kick his arse, do I?” Duncan grumbles.

“No, we're fine, Duncan.” I smile at Joshua as he takes my hand.

My whole body turns to jelly. He makes me feel like mush. I've never been so turned on.

“Duncan, will you have the staff move my stuff to Ana's house? Just have them put my stuff in the spare room for now, that way I'm there to keep an eye on her.”

He's talking directly to Duncan, so he doesn't see me cringe. Maya doesn't miss it though.

“Don't you love how these alpha men think they can run roughshod over us woman? Just let him say what he thinks now, after we leave show him who controls that shit, babe,” Maya says as both guys turn to look at her. Joshua turns to me with a sheepish grin on his face.

“I did it again.”

“Yes, you did.”

“Can I move in with you, Angel?”

“Well, let me think about it.”

He leans over me and whispers in my ear. “Remember what we were discussing before these two interrupted us.” He smiles like the Cheshire cat and I groan.

“Okay, honey, you may move in. Have Helen put your stuff in the spare room upstairs, and you can use the extra office downstairs as your study.”

“I may? Interesting, darling. I will be discussing this with you later.” His smile widens, and I'm breathless with anticipation for that discussion.

Maya and Duncan laugh at us.

“Shut up, you two. I used to live with you, and I know how you two compromise.” We all laugh at my statement. The doctor gives a single knock and enters.

“Oh, excuse me. May I talk in front of all of you?” she asks as she enters.

“Yes, please.” I hope this is good news and I can go home soon. I miss my home.

“It's good to see you laughing. I have all the latest test results. The baby's ultrasound was normal. Yesterday’s high blood pressure attack didn't do any damage. Her lungs appear to be progressing well, in case we have to deliver her early. As of right now, I do not see any further signs of preeclampsia. I want to see you in my office twice weekly. You’ll need a blood pressure cuff at home to check your blood pressure twice daily. As much rest as possible with one walk daily. I see from your chart you do yoga, nothing where your head is lower than your heart. I don't want to use medication yet if I can, and I don't want you on full bed rest either. Live your life as completely as possible, but no stress. As for marital relations, I don't see where we need to restrict that yet. If I do not like your numbers at any of your upcoming appointments, you'll be here for the remainder of your pregnancy. I'll be including seizure protocols with your discharge paperwork. You all have to watch her carefully for those signs. If she has any signs, I'll be admitting her to prevent them. Someone will have to be with her at all times. If you have baby monitors set up already, use them when she is sleeping. I want to set up an amniocentesis in a few weeks. Do you all understand?”

“Yes,” Joshua and I answer at the same time.

I blush at her statement about relations but am scared about the possibility of the seizures.

“Mr. Donovan, again I apologize for yesterday. I've added you to Ms. Preston's chart for future reference.”

“Thank you, ma'am, I'm sorry for yelling at you. It was driving me crazy to not be with my girls.”

“Mr. Donovan, maybe you should check your blood pressure too.” She laughs, and we all join in.
