“Okay, well thank you.” She turns to leave.

“Come here, Angel.” She walks further into the room. I smell her cherry blossom scent. It wraps around my senses and I'm again rock hard for her.

“Timothy, can you go upstairs to get some ideas about those cameras for both their rooms?”

“Sure thing, Bossman, I was heading to do that when I ran into Ana. I'll head up now.” He smiles as he walks out and closes the door.

“Come here, please.” She walks to me, her head lowered. I can't wait until her confidence returns, and she can hold her head high again. “Look at me, Angel, I'm not upset with you.”

“Really?”

“No. Mum understands and is used to it. Like I told you before, she's had to lead a protected life for many years.”

“I was eavesdropping though.”

“So what, you should have said hello. She would have liked that.” She leans back against the desk.

“By the way, Angel, whose desk is this?”

“Yours.” She smiles shyly at me.

“No, I just moved in. Whose is it? I don't want to take your office or what your father was going to use if he moved in.”

“Daddy move in?” She giggles. “He likes the library at Maya and Duncan's. Plus Maya is getting the rooms over their garage refurbished for Daddy. It's yours. When I decorated it, I was hoping we'd find our way back to each other. I thought of you when I picked out all the stuff in here. There's even a hidden gun room behind one of the bookshelves, Maya helped me with it. She stocked it with guns and knives. She said you're what’s called a knife man. I wasn't sure what that meant.”

Her face pinching with that final part makes me laugh.

“Oh, Angel, what would I do without you? A knife man means I carry and fight with knives, Maya and I have been working on tactical knife fighting. She's Israeli trained, and I'm SAS and Navy SEAL trained. Don't worry though, I also carry a few guns.” I smile at her and hope she isn't scared.

“Don't worry about scaring me,” she says, surprising me as if she could read my mind. “I lived with Maya and Duncan for a couple months, those two are a regular arsenal.” She laughs, and I have to laugh too, she's right. I wouldn't be surprised if Maya makes Ana put a gun or knife in the diaper bag. “Joshua, I hope we never have to find out what we'd do without each other ever again.” Her tentative smile has me wanting to pull her into me.

“Never, Angel, I'm never letting you go again. You hear me?”

“Yes. Can we talk about the baby's name?”

“What about it? Isabella is perfect?”

“Well, she needs a middle name and umm…” She bites her lip, and I can see she doesn't know how to finish that sentence.

“A surname?” I smile at her.

“Yes.” She looks down, avoiding my eyes again.

I want to look in her eyes when I ask her my next question. I lift her chin so she's looking me in the eye.

“Do you want her to have your last name?” I hold my breath.

“No, I want her to have yours. Only if you want, is it too soon?” She's looking me in the eyes, and I see her honesty, how scared she is of my answer.

“Too soon? I've told the courts she's mine. I would love to give her my name. As for middle, what are your thoughts?” I want to tell her I want her to have my name too but I know it's too soon for that.

“I was thinking Cara, but I need to talk to Maya, she might want that one. Or your mum's?”

“Why do you need to ask Maya about Cara?”

“Cara was her mum's name. Our mums were best friends growing up.”

“Isabella Cara Donovan, I like it.”
