Page 67 of Going for Two

Jada wraps Loren up in a hug and winks at me over her shoulder while Aaron shakes hands with the men at the table.

“I can’t wait to pick your brain all night,” Loren returns once they’re all seated.

Jada laughs. “And I can’t wait to hear your stories of Blake as a kid, since I’m told you two have an interesting history.”

It only takes a couple of minutes before they’ve turned to face one another in their chairs, and I’m entirely too pleased with their budding friendship, even if it’s based on their common critiques of me. Aaron gets my attention and gestures toward the bar, and we leave them at the table to get a round of drinks.

“So, the girl from the restaurant, huh?” Aaron asks as he takes a sip. I’m surprised he remembers, since he’s not a Camellia native.

I shrug and try to hide the silly grin I’m sporting.

He clears his throat. “Jada told me the news. Congratulations,” he offers.

And now it’s impossible not to beam at him. “Thanks, man.”

“I see why your panties were in such a twist that night.”

“Yeah,” I say on an exhale.

He chuckles and slaps me on the back fondly. “And here lies ole Blake the Snake, huh?”

I shake my head and laugh along with him. My phone chimes in my pocket as we walk back to the table, so I pull it out for a quick check.

That’s a good-looking couple.

So, how’s it going so far?

Funny my brother should ask right now, especially since I’m thinking I might need his help for once.

Great. Our hotel room is amazing. There’s only one bed.

Loren looks beautiful and sexy af, and she’s already got everyone at the law office eating out of the palm of her hand.

The only problem is that my super-hot date doesn’t want me to put the moves on her, even though she’s already having my babies.

And I’m so into her that the moves are just kind of putting themselves on now.

My heart hits the floor, and I curse under my breath. I hadn’t realized JD’s original message was in our family text group.

“You all right, man?” Aaron asks.

“Uh, yeah, fine,” I tell him as more messages pop up.

“I’ll meet you back at the table,” he says, giving me time to read the rest.
