Holy shit,I thought as he lowered his head.Collin Murphy is going to kiss me.

And wasn’t it strange that the first person I wanted to share that monumental occurrence with was Barry?

“Collin.” I sighed when his mouth touched mine. His lips were firm and warm, and that warmth flowed through me like the current of a stream.

With a groan, he tugged on my hair. I opened my mouth wider, a thrill coursing through me as he deepened the kiss. He slipped his tongue between my lips.

Spreading my hands over the front of his shirt, I met each penetrating stroke of his tongue. My pulse pounded and my blood heated. I’d been kissed before, but never with such raw passion. It was exciting, like the melody to a new song.

I grabbed fistfuls of his T-shirt, partly because my knees were shaking. He grabbed my ass and rocked his erection against that spot between my legs where heat and wetness pooled.

“Addy.” He ripped his mouth from mine. “Oh, Addy.” Collin rained passionate kisses on my face, my forehead, each cheek, the tip of my nose, and the slight indentation in my chin. “You taste delicious, like strawberries and cherries.”

“Starbursts.” Dazed, I clung to him, staring into his smoky eyes.

“Huh?”

“The candy. It’s a weakness. Just the red and pink ones, though, I don’t like the rest,” I blathered. “Rachel does. It works out.”

“Ah.” His firm and oh-so-talented lips spread into a breathtaking grin. “I’ll remember that.”

“Okay.” I didn’t know what else to say. I felt like I’d stumbled into an alternate universe where a guy who had never shown interest in me was suddenly kissing me and calling me his girl. “Is this kiss what you wanted to tell me?”

“Yes, definitely.” He sifted his fingers through my hair, his gaze locked on mine. “I’ve wanted to kiss you for a long time.”

“I thought you didn’t even notice me.”

“Impossible.” He expelled a disbelieving sound. “But I don’t know how to do this.”

“I think you do this very well,” I said softly, and his eyes darkened.

His gaze snaring mine, he said, “I know hard kisses and fast fucks. I don’t have experience with relationships.”

“I don’t either.” I licked my lips, and his gaze dipped to my mouth.

Knowing how good he kissed, I experienced a needy flutter down low. He grabbed me by the upper arms and hauled me closer. Heat exploded between us. The bell rang, though, and we jumped apart.

“Will you give me a chance to try?” he asked, his gaze intense. “Will you be my girlfriend?”

“Yes.”Holy shit. Yes, that was exactly what I wanted.

“Awesome.” His lips slowly curved, and butterflies did a happy dance inside my chest. Apparently, that was what he wanted too.

“Just you and me,” I said, remembering all the girls who constantly hovered around him. “I’ve done some fooling around before, but I’m not a casual hookup type of girl.” I remembered my conversation with Barry and struggled to spell it all out. “I don’t want you to get the wrong idea about me—”

“Shh.” Collin covered my mouth with a finger. “I won’t disrespect you. I know who you are. I see you. You’re beautiful. Protective of your sister. Smart. Super intuitive about music.”

“Oh.” Stunned by the liquid metal of his eyes and mesmerized by his praise, I couldn’t think of what else to say.

Collin lowered his head and touched his firm lips to mine.

“Just us,” he whispered against my mouth, his breath spicy cinnamon and smoke. “We’ll figure things out as we go.”

At the end of the day, I grabbed the textbooks I needed for homework from my locker and shut the metal door, red for Southside High’s Hornets. Barry stood just on the other side.

“Oh!” I hugged my books to my chest, my heart racing. “I didn’t see you.”

“Didn’t hear me either.” Barry shook his head at me. “Listening to music in your head again, huh?”
