“Of course! I love you too, Curt,” she says, then chuckles despite the tears spilling down her face. “Heck, I've loved you all my life. So yes! I'll marry you.”

I lean forward and lower my mouth to hers. Her eyes drift close as our lips meet in a passionate kiss that seals the promise of our hearts.

I've never felt so complete… so fulfilled.

Epilogue

London

Six years later

I walk out of the house and lean against the porch railing with a contented sigh, amazed at the gorgeous stillness of the evening. Just hours ago, the large lawn had been bustling with families and friends who came to celebrate the twins' fourth birthday party. I'd enjoyed the soft music and warm laughter of everyone amidst well-wishes, but I preferred this quiet more…

In this silence, I can really take in the beauty around me. I can appreciate the life I've been blessed with.

An unconscious smile tugs at my lips as I watch Amelia play catch with Noah and Liam, our twin boys, in the distance. The sound of their merry laughter reaches me, filling my heart with a warmth so familiar yet so extraordinary that it feels new each time.

I let my gaze roam over to where Curt is standing with his best friend, Damon Ford, and Damon’s gorgeous wife, Dana, by their car. Damon and Dana also came for the twins’ birthday party, but they stayed after to discuss business with Curt, who happens to be the family's lawyer. We'd exchanged goodbyes inside just moments ago, but it seems like they've struck up another conversation in the driveway.

Damon has an arm wrapped around his wife's shoulder even as he speaks with Curt, her body pressed possessively against his. She, in turn, seems perfectly at home in his embrace. He looks down at her and says something. She laughs, her eyes sparking with complete adoration solely directed at her husband.

They look as in love as they did the very first time I met them at my wedding five years ago. It's the way their eyes brim with so much affection and how their gazes always seem to find each other, no matter the distance between them. Their care for each other is palpable in the most admirable way.

I watch Damon lead his wife to the passenger side of the car. He opens the door for her, kisses her on the lips, waits for her to settle in her seat, and closes the door before walking back around to the driver's side. He says something to Curt and they shake hands before he gets into the car.

Curt steps back a little and waves as the car pulls out of the driveway. Then he turns around, his eyes instantly finding mine. My heart skips a beat and settles into an uneven rhythm.

Six years and two kids later, yet somehow, this man still makes me feel butterflies.

I watch him make his way to me in long, deliberate strides, his eyes filled with a lusty intensity that sets my body on fire. When he finally gets to me, he wraps his arms around my waist, presses my body to his, and lowers his lips to mine in a deep, searing kiss. His tongue dives into my mouth, sliding against mine in slow, seductive strokes.

I moan into his mouth, sliding my hands up and over the ripped muscles of his shoulders and back. I wrap my arms aroundhis neck, burying my fingers in his hair. I can feel his cock hardening, pressing proudly against my lower stomach. I rub myself against him, desperate for the euphoria only he can give me.

When he pulls back, the intensity in his eyes has deepened, and the light smile on his lips does nothing to hide the flaming desires swirling in those endless gray depths.

“Hey, wifey,” he says, his smile widening slowly.

“What was that for?” I ask, still a little breathless from the steamy kiss we just shared.

“Dana said to kiss you goodbye,” he replies with a careless shrug.

“What?” I sputter, unable to help the laughter that escapes my throat. “That was for… Dana?”

His hands slide down to my ass, his palms possessively cupping each cheek. “No, baby,” he says, squeezing roughly while trailing light kisses up my neck. “That was for me.” He lifts his head, his eyes twinkling with amusement as he places a soft kiss on my right cheek. “This is for Dana.”

I laugh, a deep, hearty sound that I once didn't think myself capable of producing. But I've laughed a lot over the years since I met Curt, more than enough to cover up for the years I couldn't.

“I missed you so much,” he says after my laughter has winded down.

"What?" I ask, blinking at him in disbelief. "We've been together all day."

"Yeah, but I wasn't able to have you to myself," he replies with an adorable pout. "That's a crime in and of its own."

“So?” I ask, slowly rocking my hips against his hard-on. I smile, enjoying the catch in his breath and the way his eyes seem to darken even more. “What are you going to do about it?”

“Oh you're looking for trouble, defendant,” he mutters right before sweeping me into his arms.

I squeal excitedly, laughing all the way to the bedroom. The moment the door closes behind us, he gently lets me down, presses me against the door, and lowers his mouth to mine in a short, aggressive kiss.
