He rolled his eyes at me, then stomped around to the other side of the truck. “Just get the fuck inside.”

I carefully positioned her in the passenger seat, then climbed right in beside her. I was too large to share the seat with her, but I was scared she’d pass out again from my idiocy. I pressed the hem of my shirt to her forehead to staunch the bleeding as Brock tore out of the driveway.

“You know, there are other ways to prove that you love her besides fucking her into a coma.”

“I didn’t fuck her into a coma. I was?—”

“You were making sure she never forgot you,” he said. The roll of his eyes was implied in his tone. “Jesus, I was about to get head. I can’t believe I’m going to the hospital instead.”

“Lee?”

“No…another woman,” he said, his body shifting in a weird way.

“What was that?”

“What was what?”

“The whole…wiggly thing?”

“I didn’t wiggle.”

“You definitely wiggled. There was wigglage.”

“That’s not even a word,” Brock snapped.

“That doesn’t mean you didn’t do it!”

“How about we focus a little less on my dick and more on the fact that you not only made your woman pass out, but then bashed her head in.”

“Hey, this is one of those times you keep your mouth shut.”

“Sure, I’ll just add it to the list of all the other secrets I’m keeping for you,” he snapped.

This was getting us nowhere fast. Luckily, the hospital wasn’t far so I didn’t have to sit in uncomfortable silence for too long. Just as we were pulling in, Laura started to rouse again.

“Ugh, why does my head hurt?”

“Uh…you passed out and hit the truck,” I said quickly, shrugging when Brock glared at me.

I didn’t wait for the gurney to arrive. I grabbed her in my arms and marched through the sliding doors, glaring at the nurses who were too busy watching Brock to pay attention to me.

“I need a doctor, now!”

“Dash, what are you doing?” Laura frowned, trying to sit up in my arms.

“You passed out.”

“So you brought me to the doctor? What am I wearing?” she shrieked. “Oh God, I’m not wearing any clothes!” she hissed.

I spared her a glance just long enough to tell that she was actually awake now and very much pissed off.

“Dash, I don’t even have underwear on!”

“Don’t worry. They’re going to look over every inch of you.”

“I don’t need them to! Did you ever think that maybe you just screwed me too long and hard?”

Brock shook with laughter beside me, but at my lethal glare, he shut it down. “I don’t care if you were passed out for two seconds. We’re not leaving here until I’m positive you’re okay.”
