Amara heads past me, stopping at the door. “Have a good night. I’ll be back tomorrow, so you two have the entire clubhouse to yourself.” Amara shoots me a wink and I chuckle.

God only knows what the two of us can get into.

I sit in the office for a few minutes, thinking about how I’m going to keep our relationship going long-term.

Relationship.

Is it even a relationship, or what the fuck are we doing?

We haven’t discussed anything, and yet it’s like everything has naturally fallen into place.

After a few minutes, I leave Amara’s office and shut the door behind me.

The clubhouse is still bland as fuck, with only a few odds and ends.

We really need to go furniture shopping and fill the space up, but I don’t think we’ll do that until the prospects arrive.

Heading down the hall, I walk into the main area, where Oakleigh is now painting the puke green walls a deep, terracotta red.

She might be ten minutes into an hours’ long job.

Her braids are tied back with an oversized scrunchie so the paint doesn’t get on them.

Oakleigh’s really started making herself at home, and that makes me feel good.

She might not officially be my woman, but I treat her like she is.

I walk up behind her, appreciating how sexy she looks in her jean overalls and sports bra. “Hey,” I say, walking up behind her.

She jumps and turns to look at me with fire in her eyes. "Dude! You scared the crap out of me.”

I smirk and make it a point to drag my eyes up and down her body. “Well, I wasn’t tryin’ to scare you in the least bit.”

Oakleigh shakes her head in amusement, “I’m sure you weren’t. What’s up? How’d the meeting go?”

I shouldn’t really be sharing club business with her, but it isn’t anything she isn’t going to find out anyway.

I announce, “Python’s agreed to be the enforcer for the club, and our prospects will be here within the next week or so.”

Oakleigh’s eyes light up with excitement. “That’s awesome!”

I nod, agreeing with her. “Yeah, it’ll be good to have more bodies in the club.”

Oakleigh rolls her tool in the paint and proceeds to go up and down on the wall in thin, even movements. “Yeah, it will. Not gonna lie, it’s odd that we’re the only ones here. I’m used to a clubhouse being loud as hell.”

Amara and Dante live outside of the clubhouse.

She wants all of the officers to live away from the club, because she said it’s likely we’ll settle down first.

While I understand her reasoning, I told her I’m going to live in the clubhouse.

It’s not only what I want to do, but it’s a better choice for the club.

Until we’re established and everyone learns their roles, I don’t think the clubhouse should just have prospects living in it.

In my eyes, it’s a recipe for disaster.

I understand where she’s coming from. “Enjoy the peace and quiet while you can, because it’ll be rowdy as hell when the prospects are in here.”
