I head for the door leading into the garage until a hand wraps around my arm. “Hey, get us some stuff while you go.”

Razor pulls out his wallet and hands me a load of cash.

I still have money from when I was stripping, “I can pay for it. It’s okay.”

“Just ‘cause you can doesn’t mean you need to.” Razor points out.

Accepting defeat, I slide the cash into my purse and leave the clubhouse with Lashes.

She’s been driving around more than I have and is familiar with the area, so I let her drive us to the furniture store.

Oddly enough, we go from store to store, finding odds and ends for the club.

With each store we go to, we discover more about the other.

She is such a happy, kind-hearted woman.

It makes me feel so stupid that I was so threatened by her before.

There is nothing to be afraid of with her.

She has a wicked sense of humor, and she’s the kind of woman who doesn’t tolerate any bullshit.

We’re in the last furniture store, walking around to see if anything else is a must have at the club.

One thing we really wanted to at least purchase today was a sectional, and so far we haven’t found one that seems sturdy or big enough.

We saw a couple of those modern ones, where the back only comes up halfway, but I know the guys would hate it.

We walk through another area filled with sectionals, “I know you and Razor are a thing, so how are you staying here?”

I run my fingertips against the soft taupe material, “You want to know something funny?”

Lashes is immediately interested, laughing curiously. “What would that be?”

I look right at her, “Razor and I are together, but we haven’t ever talked about being together. Like, there isn’t a label on this.”

Lashes furrows her brows and blinks a few times.

The silence is deafening until she finally speaks up. “Okay, that makes no sense. It’s not like you’re a long-term booty call. The guy obviously cares about you. If he didn’t, he wouldn’t have let anything your dad said get under his skin.”

Nodding, I agree with her. “I know, it’s just something we need to talk about I guess,” licking my lips as we approach the next couch, I change the subject. “So, tell me more about you. Did you leave anyone back home?”

She shakes her head, “I sure didn’t. I wasn’t looking for anything, so I just slept around a bit. It was good for me, meant I didn’t get my heart broken in the process.”

I understand what she’s saying completely. “Makes sense. Don’t put yourself in the position to get hurt unless you have to.”

“Exactly,” Lashes pauses for a second and points to a nearby sectional. “What about this one?”

It’s a six piece sectional with a chaise, in a lighter gray.

I don’t think it’s out of the running, so I head toward it. “It might actually work,” I admit as I’m up beside it.

It’s oversized with multiple pieces, has the ability to turn into two sofa beds, and there’s a chaise.

Mulling over my options, I think I’ve come up with a pretty good idea. “What if we get two of them and have them across from each other, sort of? We could put one maybe fifteen feet in front of the bar, then get an area rug, put the other sectional hugging the furthest corner of the rug.”

Lashes nods, “That would make a lot of sense. There’s a lot of us,”
