For a few moments, we stay here, him nestled inside of me.

I don’t know how to describe it, but man it feels good.

I didn’t know it ages ago, but Razor is all I’ve ever wanted in life.

Stepping into Amara’s office, I decide it’s time I tell her.

She has to know about what’s going on with Rosa.

She glances up at me, with furrowed brows. “What is it? There’s a lot of shit on my plate today.”

Taking a seat in one of the chairs across from her desk, I lay it all on the table. “Rosa told me she was engaged to someone else previously, and I’m not sure if you knew about the circumstances surrounding it.”

Her eyes are glued to her phone and she glances up again, “Lots of people are engaged more than once in their life.”

She has no idea.

“Her engagement was something our father arranged for her,” I start off. “Our father was Rafael Ramirez, Amara.”

She blinks a few times, “Sorry?”

“My father was Rafael Ramirez. That’s what makes this different.” I make it clear as hell.

She puts her phone face down on her desk and looks right at me. “Why the hell didn’t you tell me that before?”

I take a moment to come up with a good answer. “He was more like a sperm donor, honestly. From what I know, Rosa spent a good bit of time with him during her childhood, but I can’t say the same. My mother left him and I was raised in the States.”

Amara nods her head slowly, “I see. Rosa’s obviously with Axel, so what about her engagement is important enough to bring it up to me now?”

I’ve slowly been able to get more information from both Axel and Rosa.

Clearing my throat, I continue. “The marriage was between her and Elias Hernandez.”

Amara goes ghost white. “Of the Bolivian cartel?”

I confirm, “Yes. He was able to track her down when she was in Billings, and pretty much said he was gonna come after her.”

Amara gazes off to the side for a minute, “Do you think that’s who could be having these runners in our territory?”

It could be, but I’m not sure. “I feel like he’d send a more aggressive message. I don’t know him, though, so I can’t say for certain.”

Amara sighs deeply, “Who the fuck knows. It could explain some things, but you must be telling me for a reason. Why are you bringing it up now?”

“Rosa’s been getting calls from Bolivian numbers almost every day. It’s freaking her out to no end. I told her that we’d protect her and she shouldn’t worry, but?—”

“She’s worrying,” Amara cuts in with a reassuring smile. “The first thing we need her to do when she gets back is change her phone number. That could be part of the problem. When she and Axel stop at Las Vegas, have her turn her phone off.”

I nod, agreeing to pass the message along.

Rosa and Axel are driving back from Billings in a couple of days.

They had to go back and pack some of their shit so they could officially move here.

She speaks up again, “We’ll need to keep an eye on the situation, but I’m sure we can handle it.”
