I wait for my heart to settle back into my chest, then offer him a playful smack. “You scared the crap out of me.” I try to laugh it off, but inside, I’m reeling.

“Sorry,” his gaze softens, “but I had to see you. Touch you.”

“You know, for a guy who supposedly never gets jealous, you seem to get jealousa lotlately.” I smirk as I rake my hands in his hair and pull him closer.

Is he really here right now? Is this really happening?

“Only with you.”

I swallow, and my insides melt. “You shouldn’t say things like that.”

“Why not?” He searches my gaze. “It’s true.” He dips his head, burying his face into my hair.

“Are you . . . smelling me?” I ask with a chuckle.

He grunts out a yes, then follows it up. “Your hair. It smells amazing. Coconuts are my new favorite food.”

I laugh and lean into him. “You're unhinged.”

“Only because of you,” he says, his voice gruff.

Leaning back, he cups my face in his large hand, then lowers his mouth to mine. Our lips brush, and I chase the intensity of the kiss, pressing into him as he growls. “Do you know how crazy it makes me to see you with another guy?”

The breath in my lungs stalls, and I think,if this is how he acts when I go out on a date, then maybe I should date more often.“Is that so?” I manage, between gasps for breath.

Jace’s hands tighten around my waist where he guides me until my back meets the wall behind me.

A throaty moan escapes my chest as his tongue parts my lips and he deepens the kiss. My hands bunch in the back of his blazer, and I pull him even closer. Until he’s flush against me. Until our hearts beat in sync. Our breaths are one breath.

His mouth moves to my jaw, and I grasp the lapels of his jacket, grounding myself as a chuckle erupts from my chest.

He pulls back, amusement spreading his lips as he arches a brow in question.

“Whose jacket is this?”

“It’s a loaner.” Jace returns to my jaw, peppering me with kisses as his mouth slowly forms a trail back to mine where he speaks between each brush of his lips over my skin. “Apparently, I wasn’t dressed well enough for Pizzuto’s. I had to give Chris the good one, since I dragged him here.”

My breath rasps in the back of my throat. “It looks great with your joggers.”

“Doesn’t it, though?” He leans in, smiling against my lips as he presses his mouth to mine once more.

Tiny fireworks erupt in my chest as he takes his time, like tasting me is a full-time job and he’s putting in overtime.

His hands roam, shifting behind us to pull one of my legs up and over his hip. My dress rides up, bunching at my waist, but I’m too lost in the sensation and his touch to care.

His hand anchoring my leg to him, hip to hip. The delicious press of his hard center to mine. The tiny affirmations rolling off his tongue each time he releases my mouth to rake a kiss over my neck.

You feel incredible.

Kiss.

You smell so fucking good . . .

Kiss.

You're so sexy.

Kiss.
