"I guess." His gaze falls on me, and for a split second, it's almost as if I'm the only thing in his universe. "Or maybe I just have more of an incentive to get up early."

I giggle and shake my head. "Maybe it's all the girls in your fan club you met yesterday," I tease. "Sure you're not going to the library to meet with someone?"

He places a hand on his chest and stumbles a bit. "Morgan, you wound me. I thought we were becoming friends, and here you are, tarnishing my pure reputation with your accusations," he states dramatically.

I laugh and playfully push him. "You're so lame. But give it time. Soon, you'll need a stick to beat off all the girls who flock around you."

"Eh, I know how to handle myself," he says, waving me off. We arrive at the English building, and it's unfortunate because I'm not even ready to end our conversation. Everything with him is so easy and flows so naturally that time seems to fly by in an instant.

"Well, thanks for walking me to class," I say after a few beats of silence stretch between us.

"Sure." He rubs the back of his neck for a moment. "Uh...so about that dinner we talked about yesterday...think you'd be up for it today?"

"Yes," I answer quickly.

He chuckles. "Great. How about after your last class of the day?"

That's a little early to eat dinner, but I definitely won't reject an opportunity to spend time with him. It'll also give me a reason not to go straight home after classes.

"Yeah, that's fine. My last class lets out at three thirty, so I'll meet you in the parking lot soon after?"

"Sounds like a plan." He smiles at me. His eyes briefly move along my body before meeting my gaze. "See you later, then."

I lift my hand in a wave and watch him retreat toward the other side of campus, unable to wipe the stupid grin off my face as I pull open the heavy door and step inside the building. I make my way into class and settle into a seat near the back as other students file in and do the same. Matthew walks into the room, and I instantly roll my eyes when he grins at me. He strolls over to me and, unfortunately, sits next to me. The smell of his aftershave is putrid enough to make me want to gag, and it doesn't help that he's the most annoying person on the planet who doesn't know how to take a hint.

"Sup, Morgan?" He cockily leans back in his seat as his beady eyes case my body, his jaw flexing as he smacks on the gum in his mouth. "Gorgeous as always."

"Hi, Matthew," I reply, my tone flat. I busy myself with rummaging through my book bag in an attempt to appear busy. But of course, Can't-Take-A-Hint Matthew continues talking anyway.

"That perfume you're wearing is sexy," he says, leaning forward and inhaling deeply. I cringe as I lean away from him, a frown settling on my lips as I regard him.

"Dude, seriously?"

He only smiles. He's handsome, I'll give him that. But the way he pushes boundaries to the point that it almost feels predatory will always make him unappealing. He's known for saying inappropriate things to women as well as aggressively pursuing them to the point of near harassment. His spoiled, popular rich-boy act may make him a hit with the other girls on campus, but it definitely doesn't do anything for me.

"Anyway, I watch all your videos on IG," he continues, smacking on his gum. "Who would've thought that a video of you promoting a weight loss tea would make great fap fodder?”

"You're disgusting," I mutter. "Why would you even say something like that? That's not something I'm flattered by."

"Because I wanted to introduce an idea to you."

I roll my eyes at the cheeky grin on his stupid face. "I'm not going out with you, Matthew," I say.

"No, no, not that. I had this idea when you were live the other day and promoting that fashion haul or whatever the hell you were doing. You know, I was praying you had a nip slip when you tried on that one shirt that literally looked like you just tied a bandanna around your chest." He laughs, and when I don't follow suit, he sighs deeply and waves a dismissive hand. "Geez, you're always so serious. Anyway, you should totally start an OnlyFans. I'd pay a premium price for exclusive content of that ass."

"Ugh, you're sick," I snap as I gather my things and move to a seat at the front of the class, clear across the room. Thankfully, the other seats around me are taken, so I don't have to worry about Matthew moving with me.

Comments like that shouldn't bother me since I tend to get them a lot online, but it's so much more different when you get them in real life. There's always that sense of how dirty it makes you feel afterward, and just how much popularity can cost when people think you're a product and not a person.

My thoughts fall back to Trent, and my earlier smile returns as I count down the minutes until I see him again.

TRENT

"Who would've thought that a video of you promoting a weight loss tea would make great fap fodder?"

Anger heats my skin as I listen in on the conversation Morgan's having with some douche in her class. After learning her schedule, I'd made sure I was on campus before she arrived so that I had an opportunity to plant a bug on her in order to hear her interactions throughout the day. Watching her hasn't been enough, and I need to know what kind of conversations she has with other people to know what she is truly up to.
