Julius laughed and sat back. “What’re we doing today?”

“We’re building a website.” I smiled at him and scribbled on my notebook.

Thank you.

“Aw, shucks.” He smiled bigger at me. “My pleasure.”

“Okay class,” Professor Brady strolled in. “Let’s get to it.”

Julius made me feel like he was a friend hanging out. Not a bodyguard.

“So, uh, nice bite.” He chuckled beside me.

“Oh!” My hand flew up, covering the mark.

He pulled my hand down. “No reason to be embarrassed. It’s a good thing.”

“Yeah.” I felt butterflies flapping around in my belly. “Sebastian has a lot of willpower.”

“He does.” He nodded. “He’s been my best friend since we were pups. I’d like to think that when he takes over the pack, I’ll be his delta.”

My fingers froze on the keyboard. “When what?”

“He’s shown himself to be fair and honorable.” Julius beamed with pride. “When he graduates, he’s going to take over the vineyard his dads’ own.”

My jaw dropped open. “Are you kidding with me?”

“No.” He shook his head.

“Blue Moon Vineyard?” I licked my lips. “Is Anders and Leslie’s business?”

“Yep.” Julius’s eyes twinkled. “Sebastian knows all about wine. He got a scholarship on football, so that’s why he did four years of university.”

Titus leaned over towards me. “And he’s losing that scholarship since he quit the team.”

“What do you mean, he quit the team?” I looked from Titus to Julius.

“That was part of last night’s deal. Simon agreed to stay away from you if Sebastian quit the team.” Julius chuckled. “Simon didn’t even get it all out before Bas said yes.”

I felt tears well up in my eyes. “He quit the team for me?”

“Nolan.” Titus leaned over to see my face. “Take it from an alpha who found their fated mate. There is nothing you wouldn’t do for them. Especially if it’s protecting them.”

As I blinked my eyes, the tears rolled silently down my cheeks.

Titus looked around and leaned in closer. “I know Sebastian. He’s a good man.”

“Thank you, Titus.” I pressed my lips together and went back to keying in code.

Julius kicked back and played on his phone, sharing funny memes he found from time to time until the professor dismissed us.

“You know, that site you’re creating looks great. You should talk to Leslie and Anders about revamping their site.”

That would be so much better than cleaning apartments.

“Really?” I picked up my backpack and walked out with Julius.

“Really.” He smiled. “Thanks for letting me hang with you.”
