Not to mention, my nests feel too big. Then they feel too small.

My nails clacked against the surface of the island, and I turned to see Sebastian raking leaves to fill these special trash bags I got. When they’re filled right, they’ll look like pumpkins.

I blew out a hot breath. “He’s doing it wrong.”

Pushing off the counter, I stormed outside. “You’re doing it wrong!”

He stopped and turned his head to look at me. “How?”

“They way you’re doing will catch the rake and tear the bag!”

He glanced down at the small hole he’d already made. “This is the best I can do alone.”

I felt my eyes blink. “Why didn’t you ask for help?”

“You were busy.” He dropped the side of the bag he held and stood up.

I crossed my arms over my chest. “You could’ve asked for help.”

“Baby, you were busy in the kitchen.” He stepped back and tilted his head.

I felt tears well up in my eyes as I threw my arms up. “Just nevermind.”

I stormed back inside and I felt him following me.

“Leave me alone.” I growled and went to my nest in the closet of our room.

This one is too fucking small.I sniffled.

Crouching down, Sebastian peeked inside. “Baby?”

“I didn’t mean to snap.” I sniffled more. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”

“Hey, you’re allowed to have emotions.” He sat down and patted his thigh. “We’re still getting to know each other. There’s been a lot of changes in your life, I get it.”

“How could you?” Anger laced my words. “Your life has been peaches and cream!” I sat up. “Your parents adore you.” I ticked off a finger. “You had a scholarship, so you didn’t have to pay for shit.” Another finger. “As the star qb everyone wanted to fuck you, so you had choices.” I leaned over to lie back down, but stopped and ticked another finger. “Oh, and let’s not forget that your alpha ass can do no wrong!”

“Nolan?” His voice sounded quiet and patronizing. “Where is this anger coming from?”

“Oh. So now, because I have valid points, something is wrong with me?”

He held his hands up and shook his head. “Those aren’t valid points.”

“I need space.” I sniffled again and climbed out of my nest. “Don’t. Follow. Me.”

“Nolan, it’s not safe.”

“Just stop right there. I can take care of myself. I did just fine before you.” I nodded my head and ran through the house, out the back door, and shifted to run faster.

The wind in my fur felt heavenly. And with no one around, I could have a little me time.

Sebastian

“What the hell just happened?” I hopped up from the floor, ran through the house, and saw Nolan’s torn clothing in the yard.

Across my yard, I saw my dads walking towards me.

“Is everything okay?” My dad, Leslie, looked concerned.
