“Tough.” He tweaked her nose. “We all have things we don’t wanna do.” He pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket. “First, we are going to establish a safe word. Then, we are going to talk about our rules and expectations, and finally,” he paused to hand her the sheet, “this is a BDSM checklist. It has all sorts of different activities that exist in the BDSM world. We are going to go through each one and talk about where we are with each one. After we have clearly outlined our roles, responsibilities, and fantasies, Daddy will take care of putting you to bed for the evening.”

Trinity pouted again. She knew the conversation was part of a Safe, Sane, and Consensual relationship. Everyone at The Citadel practiced RACK, Risk Aware Consensual Kink, and had to take a course in it before becoming card carrying members. She reminded him of such.

“I’m a member of The Citadel, Daddy. I know what a safe relationship looks like.”

“Yes, Little Girl , you did go through the class. However, every relationship is different. It is still necessary to discuss what is going to be important in ours. Now, let’s pick a safe word. You can use it anytime and anyplace without fear of retribution or Daddy being disappointed in you. It can be used if you are emotionally uncomfortable, want something to stop, or if you just need to communicate that you need me.”

“Daddy, can I use it now? Cause I is uncomfortable.”

“Sure. I’ll ask you what is making you uncomfortable and reevaluate how to have this conversation in a safer way. But we aren’t not going to have it, Little Rabbit.”

Well shoot.

“What are you uncomfortable with?” he asked her.

She waved the paper in the air, and he took it. “This list is long and exhausting. I don’t even know what each thing is,” she confessed.

“I see. I know it can be a bit overwhelming. Let’s start with a safe word and our expectations. Do you know how to eat an elephant?”

“What? Who would ever eat an elephant?” She gave her best offended look. “Those are my favorite, favorite, favorite animals.”

He shook his head. “You eat an elephant one bite at a time, Little Rabbit.”

Trinity smiled to herself thinking back to how gentle and caring he’d been. They’d spent over an hour going through the list of BDSM experiences. He’d asked for honesty, and she’d given it to him. Some of them they crossed off as hard limits for her, some for him. At the end, they had a nice list of things to try and things they both were all in on—like spanking. She squirmed in her seat, imagining what it would be like the first time she went over his knee. He’d threatened several times during playdates. She had walked the tightrope line of acceptable behavior enough for a smack here or there but never crossing it to find out.

“Understand this, too,” Lucky had continued, his gaze locking onto hers with an intensity that could melt steel. “I'll push you, challenge you, but I'll also protect you—with everything I've got. You'll always be safe with me.”

The intensity in his gaze made it clear to Trinity that he was telling the truth.

“We’re done talking. Want a cookie or some Goldfish?” Delilah nudged her out of her thoughts and back to the present.

“No, I’m good. I ate at the shop. Thanks, though.” Trinity pulled her phone out of her pocket and saw a message from Lucky.

Daddy Lucky: When you are done with your meeting, head over to the compound. I want to show you around and introduce you as my old lady officially.

Driving to the gates of The Spartan Watchmen compound, Trinity was surprised when they pulled open without her having to put in a number on the pin pad or use the phone to call ahead. The gate closed automatically behind her car and she drove ahead to the large building and parked. She pulled down the mirror and reapplied a bit of makeup before getting out of the Jeep.

Pushing through the heavy doors, she was enveloped by the scent of leather and the low rumble of conversation punctuated by the occasional laughter. A man offered Trinity a glass filled with liquid amber, and she declined it. Her heart hammered in anticipation. Her eyes were scanning for Lucky amidst the sea of vests and tattoos. The room buzzed with an energy as raw and potent as the bourbon Trinity declined when she slipped in amongst the throng of leather-clad bodies. It was a world apart, a realm where the roar of engines and the clink of glasses played the overture to stories etched in ink and steel.

“Looking for me, Little Rabbit?” His voice cut through the cacophony, as if he'd sensed her arrival through the chaos.

“Hey, Lucky,” she said, her voice steadier than she felt.

Lucky studied her with piercing eyes that seemed to strip through to her soul. Trinity held his gaze.

“Daddy,” Lucky corrected. “Here and when we are alone, it’s Daddy.”

“Won’t you be embarrassed? Do they—” she looked around the room, “know?”

“I won’t be embarrassed because they are all dominants. Some are also Daddies, most actually.”

Looking around the room, she realized he spoke the truth. She already knew Mad Dog and Bull. The Valhalla residents all had made their matches and their girls were her friends that she’d met through Delilah. She recognized several other members from The Citadel.

“Little Rabbit,” Lucky spoke, his voice a low rumble that resonated through her, “Are you ready to be introduced as my old lady?”

She flinched at the title. “Old? Can’t I be your young lady?” Mad Dog, who was standing close enough to hear her, chuckled.

“It’s a title our women get, old or young,” he assured her.
