"Indeed," I rumbled, shifting back into my human form, my arms wrapping around her protectively. "And it all starts tomorrow when we decorate for Christmas."

When Welly asked for help, cancelling the plans Freddy, Teddy and I had, we thought we’d never get laid. After all, we were scheduled to spend time with a fifty-year-old plumber and not the beautiful women we had lined up for some fun. But when the plumber turns out to be a beautiful, young woman, we can’t resist.

Chapter One

Noel

“Noel, I need you Freddy and Teddy to take the new plumber around to the cabins on the far side of the lake. We need a plan on how to get them plumbed properly since the pipes keep freezing. And until we get that sorted, we can’t move anyone in.” Welly, AKA Duke Wellington, pulled on the ends of his hair as I tried vainly to stifle the chuckle that wanted to erupt despite the displeasure I had at being forced to take the new plumber around.

The old one had been a cantankerous old man, who, as proven by the frozen and cracked piping in the brand-new family cabins, lacked the needed understanding of his position. Thankfully he retired so we didn’t have to hurt his feelings by hiring another since he’d come highly recommended by the main shifter council. And Welly needed to keep on their good side at the moment to ease the development of our community.

“House getting a little overcrowded?” The look he gave me, the one that said in a bold, neon, flashing statement “are you stupid”, broke the tenuous hold I had on my laughter. I felt for my leader and friend. I really did.

In the past year, he’d moved across the world, started this community, found his long-lost love, who turned out to be his fated mate that he shared with his friends. And if that hadn’t been enough, he found out he had a son. One he knew nothing about. Then, after rushing to get all these cabins built before the snow fell so some of the families could move out of the main house, giving him and his family some added privacy, the water pipes froze and cracked, leaving the cabins uninhabitable. And his house bursting at the seams with cooped up, rambunctious children.

“Fine. We’ll meet with this Mel Swindon.” I patted his shoulder as I walked past, heading to his office door. “But you owe us. We had a hot date lined up in the city tonight that we have to cancel.”

“Thanks,” he growled. “Now, sod off. And send in the next ones. Parsley’s demanding that I eat lunch with the family for a change. And I hate to disappointment my mate.”

I motioned for the next shifters to enter the office with a wave. They were new, wanting to join, but at their stricken looks when they heard Welly grumbling through the door, I smiled, winking at their little boy who peaked out from behind his mother’s arm. “Don’t worry, someone told him there was a mix up and this place ended up on Santa’s naughty list. It made him upset because he doesn’t want all the little boys and girls to miss out. So he’s calling Santa to get everything straightened out.”

The father chuckled as the little boy sat up straight with, turning to look at the door with awe. “H-h-he kn-knows Santa?”

“Of course.” I crouched in front of him, making sure I held his gaze. “He’s Alpha. And they know everyone.”

The little boy gulped but nodded earnestly. “I-I’m a good boy.”
