“Camilla.” Leo tsks. “I don’t give a damn about my word right now. You betrayed me.”

“I’ll tell you whatever you want to know,” I reply. “But after this, you will drop it, and we will never talk about it again.”

“On one condition.” This little snake. “That when you turn eighteen, you will give me your virginity.”

At his smile, I grimace. “And what? Does that guarantee you will drop this, never talk about it again, and keep it a secret?”

His smile widens into a full grin. “You have my word.”

It doesn’t make me feel better. There’s no comfort in this promise he’s offering. Mainly due to him just saying his word means nothing to him. “It’s been three years.”

“Three years?” he screeches, surprise etched on his face. It brings me a deep sense of satisfaction knowing he didn’t even suspect it for that long. Until it blew up in my face, but still. “How the fuck did you get away with that?”

“I came after dance.” I shrug nonchalantly even though I feel anything but.

“And what did you do with him?”

“Talk.”

“Camilla,” He warns. “No lies.”

“It’s not a lie,” I tell him the truth. “I swear it.”

“It better be all you did, Camilla, because your virginity belongs to me. I’m your future husband,” he sneers, making my body break out in goosebumps. “I’m warning you now if you ever betray me again, I will let all my men take a turn on you for being such a fucking whore.”

“Donotcall me that,” I yell, immediately regretting it. I don’t want my parents to hear this conversation, except he’s pissing me off. “Don’t you dare call me that.”

“Then don’t act like one,” he replies through gritted teeth. “Now you can’t say you didn’t know that I didn’t warn you.”

I nod once, turning around and opening the door to my balcony.

“Tell me you understand.”

“I understand, Leo,” I say, mourning the loss of the love of my life. “Now get out of my room. I want to be in peace.”

“This conversation isn’t over.” And it probably never will be.

Knowing how he holds grudges, Leonardo will bring this up for the rest of our lives. While I’m not looking forward to it, I know I also deserve it. The only difference is I no longer care about it. I will never regret what I did, and I wouldn’t take it back if he held a gun to my head.

He walks out of my room, leaving me to sulk in my sadness.

Not wanting to eat, study, or even dance is my new reality. When did I even become this girl? So messed up over a boy? This isn’t me, but I can’t help it. I love him so much it hurts, and I know it will for a very long time. I don’t want to let him go, and I know the feeling is mutual. But I have to.

I have to.

My father is out of his mind.

Matteo DeLuca doesn’t fuck around when he wants something, and right now he wants me to annul my marriage to Nikolai. According toPapà, he will kill my husband if I don’t comply.

I believe him.

That’s probably the worst part, that I know damn well what he’s capable of. If he says he will kill Nik, then he means it, and won’t bat an eyelash. No matter how much I beg. After all, I’ve never been his little girl. The only ones he’s ever given a shit about are his sons. Now look at us, missing him, mourninghim.

This is what has me sitting in his studio, begging for his attention. Nikolai told me to set up a dinner. I have no idea how he will figure out where it is, but he must have some connections in this state. I’m so exhausted of this life. I just want to get out and dance, be anywhere but here.

“Papà.” I sit on the chair across from him. “I miss dancing.”

He looks up from his computer, his thick black brows drawing into a deep frown. “I know, but for now it is not safe.”
