I grin at my phone and the fact he knows me so well.

Perfect. Dinner… I don’t know, you don’t want to go out?

We can go out if you want. I just thought something easy at home. We can watch an episode of something or a movie?

We’re turning into an old married couple.

So my plan is working.

I can’t help the laugh that tumbles out and both Bea and Penny look up at me.

“Something funny?” Bea raises a brow and glances down at my phone.

“Just Quen being himself.”

“You two are adorable.” Penny grins at me.

“They are that. We have to do some planning soon, for the big wedding party you know. I’ve gotten more than a few questions about when that’s happening. People who didn’t get to come to the courthouse want their chance to celebrate.” Bea’s eyes narrow a little.

“Like me!” Penny pipes in, and I smile at her.

“You’re top of the list. And yes, we do. I was hoping for this whole thing to be over first, but I think I need to stop waiting and just enjoy things while I can. And getting to pick the cake and first dance and all of that does sound kind of fun.”

“I wholeheartedly agree with that assessment.”

“Mmm. Same. You two are my relationship goals.” Penny grins at me.

Another ding from my phone and I look down. It’s a picture of a grocery cart with several dinner options spread out in it along with some flowers in the corner partially cropped out.

Flowers for your mistress again? We’ve talked about this.

Hubs:

Damn. I thought I managed to cut those out. I’m sorry. I know you told me I had to quit her, but when she wakes me up in the middle of the night… I can’t say no.

I laugh again and Bea shakes her head and smiles as she resumes her research. I send him a little teasing emoji and then type my response.

They’re beautiful. I’ll pretend to be surprised when I see them in person. And let’s do the Thai.

Got it. See you at home, Madness. Love you.

I grin as I slip my phone back into my purse. I never knew I could be this happy again, but between my husband, our new PR firm, and the resort plans Bea and I have in the works with our construction manager, I think I might finally be getting the fairytale ending Quentin used to tease me about. One for both of us.
