“That’s how you like it best, right?”

“Yes. Just like that. Oh god,” she whimpers and kicks the vibrator up a notch, her hips rocking down to counter my fingers. Her breathing stutters, and she cries out softly as she falls over the edge of it, using me and the vibrator to take her through the last surges. As she finishes, I take it from her, setting it aside, and then pull her close to me. I kiss her forehead and down her jaw.

“I’m right here. Always, Madness. To take care of youhowever you need. Whenever you need. I’m not going anywhere.”

Her eyes flutter open, and she wraps her hands around my neck, kissing me like it’s the first time.

“Take me to bed then and get naked. I want sleep and cuddles until you need me again.”

“Yes, boss.” I smile, kissing her, and then lift her into my arms.

I’m still laughingto myself about something funny Quentin said this morning when someone knocks on the door. I check the time, and it seems way too fast for room service to be bringing our breakfast but then again, a lot of what we ordered could be put together quickly, so I suppose it’s possible. I might tip them extra for the speed because I’m starving after being up with Quentin all night. I stumble out of the bed, tossing my hair up.

“Just a minute!” I call out because Quentin’s still in the shower, and I’ll have to answer it. I glance down at my naked state and cringe, grabbing the robe off the mattress, wrapping it around myself, and tying it tight. It’s still rather obvious I’m naked underneath but at least the essential bits are covered. Plus I’m sure room service has seen worse. I hurry across the room to the door a moment later, opening it and expecting tosee a cart with a tray of food. But instead, it’s just a man. A familiar one. I look up to see my older brother staring at me.

“Tobias!” I blink.

“Mads!”

He grabs me and hugs me tight. We haven’t seen each other in a few months. I’ve missed him but his timing is atrocious. I hug him back, glancing behind him, thankful that there’s no Scarlett right now. I try to make a furtive glimpse behind me before he scruffs my hair. “I came here to get you and tell you to come stay at the house. It’s ridiculous that you’re in a hotel when you could be with us. I think you’re hurting Scarlett’s feelings, honestly.”

“Well, I just assumed with you being freshly engaged that you’d want your alone time.” I give him a pointed look.

“We’re at the condo half the time anyway, and the house is huge, Mads. Don’t be crazy. We were fucking the whole time you were there for Christmas, and you weren’t bothered.” My brothers are nothing if not blunt.

“I had earplugs, and I’m fine staying in a hotel. I was planning to call you in a bit so we could make plans.”

“I’m here now—what plans do you want to make? Scarlett wants to have you over for an early dinner. She wants some alone time with her future sister before the party tonight. Think you can make it?” Tobias’s grin drops as I shift on my feet. “You’re in bed kind of late.”

“It was a late night last night. Just catching up on some beauty rest.”

“Is that room service?” I hear Quentin call out and dread sweeps through me.

Tobias goes stiff and his eyes travel in the direction of the voice. I hear the sound of footsteps and then they abruptly stop.

“Late night, huh? Well, I guess that explains why you didn’t want to stay at the house. Not our fucking you were worriedabout.” Tobias’s voice is flat, and I can see the tick of his jaw as the muscle tightens.

I turn around and a shirtless, wet-haired Quentin is standing next to the bed, just this side of the bathroom, staring back at my brother, looking like he’s just been shot.

The last time the three of us were in a room together was ten years ago and one of the worst days of my life, so I’m bracing myself for impact. Quentin’s smile disappears, and he straightens as his eyes meet my brother’s.

“It’s not what it looks like,” I say softly, trying to break the building tension.

“No? Cause it looks like…” Tobias doesn’t finish the sentence, tucking his tongue against his cheek and shaking his head instead.

“I’m here with Quentin. I just haven’t had the chance to tell you that yet. He has a brand deal with one of the tech companies. He had a photo shoot yesterday for it with Joss. It was fun, but it was a long day.”

“And what? The shower wasn’t working in his room? Had to come over here?” Tobias’s eyes fall on me, an accusation in them.

“It’s none of your business, Tobias.” Quentin’s voice has an edge to it that I’ve never heard before, not entirely unlike the one he had last night but different all the same. One that sends a nervous flutter through my chest. I can’t have these two fighting.

“Oh, it’s my business, Undergrove. She’s still my sister. Not that you ever seem to remember that.”

“Your grown sister.”
