“The way you two were bickering at my place? If you’re not fucking, you should be.”

“I’m with A.J.” I shake my head.

“Well, you should be under Quentin. Do yourself a favor before Nora beats you out for it. The way he looks at you, you’d be silly not to take advantage of it. Just a tip. I’ll leave you to your brooding though.” Joss grabs a cookie off the table behind me and disappears back into the crowd.

Nora’s fingers play over Quentin’s bicep again, and I can feelthe jealousy creep up my spine, my fingers dig into my glass a little tighter as I watch. I could do this. He did this plenty for me. Plus it’s good for him to be seen like this. Keeps the suspicion off us. Except… right now I want to walk over there and kiss him just to prove a point.

He chooses this moment to look over, and the irritation must show on my face because he smiles and excuses himself. He closes the distance between us, pretending to just be taking something off the table but then turns and stops at my side.

He leans over to whisper in my ear, a devious look playing over his face.

“Are you jealous?” Quentin asks, his eyes going wider with surprise. “Oh, fuck. You are, aren’t you?”

“I’m not jealous. I just think they could keep their hands to themselves when they’re asking for autographs.”

“Because you don’t like when other women touch what belongs to you?” He smirks. It’s so self-assured and so wicked that I melt a little under the weight of it.

“I didn’t say that. You’re putting words in my mouth. I’m just saying, she was a little handsy.”

“You’ve worked in this industry long enough to know that’s not exactly unusual.”

“Yeah well… it should be. What if you were in a relationship? Do you think she’d care then?”

“No. But I would. Is that what we are? A relationship?”

“We’re... I don’t know. I’m just saying…” I say, flustered with the discussion.

“Which is why you’re so jealous right now? Because this is so casual?”

“I’m not jealous right now.”

“So I could go home with Nora and it wouldn’t bother you?”

“What you do is your business,” I lie because he knows I am, and I’m not about to cede ground on this. Admit that I’m having the same jealousy issues he had over Nick.

He looks left and then right like he’s checking to see who’s watching and then he grabs my wrist, taking me across the room and dragging me out onto the terrace. No one else is out here and it’s dark. The sounds of the city at night buzz in the background, and the only light out here comes from a few strings of lights. The door slips shut after us, and he spins us around, backing me up against the brick wall behind me.

“What I do isyourbusiness,” he repeats the statement.

“During the day what you do is my business. If you want to have a bunch of women feel you up at parties at night, I guess do what you need to for your ego. Just don’t expect to come back to my bed after.”

“Oh, fuck. Youarejealous. Look how fucking riled up you are.” He cages me up against the wall, and I can feel his breath against my neck.

“Please. I am not.”

“You are. But jealousy is fucking hot on you, Madness. Such a rare thing and fuck is it getting me hard to see you all pissed off.” One of his hands slips under my skirt and up the inside of my thigh as his lips drift down my neck.

“I just don’t like the way she touched you. I’m not pissed off. You’re just being such an ass about this. I still hate you sometimes.” His fingers slip under my panties, and he groans against my throat.

“Yeah. I can tell by how wet you are how much you hate me.”

“I do hate you.”

“Awfully jealous over someone you hate so much.”

“Fuck off,” I mumble, biting my lip as his fingers push inside me, and he uses his thumb to stroke my clit as he moves them in and out.

“Yeah? You want me to fuck off? Or you want me to get you off?” he mutters against the shell of my ear. “Because I think you should spread these pretty legs and let me have a taste.”
