Beckett moved closer to her dragon and put his head against her chest. Kaida could feel him pumping his magic through their bond, waves of calm coming in to tame her dragon. More purrs and rumbles emitted from her dragon's chest as she wrapped her neck around her body to encase him into what seemed like a hug.

"Shift back, dragon. Your job is done here. You protected Kaida well," Beckett told her dragon.

She could hear her dragon groan before she felt the wall come down. Kaida could push the shift easily and felt her dragon's body slowly transform into her own. Kaida's knees were wobbly after the shift, adrenaline draining from her body now that the threat was over.

Beckett scooped her up into a hug. His embrace brought her a sense of calm like he did her dragon. She pushed her body against his, making it so every inch of her could touch him as he held her.

"Thank you," she whispered into his ear before burying her face into the crook of his neck.

Kaida took a deep breath of his scent, and another wave of calm washed over her. She didn't want to leave his hug. This was the first moment of her day when she felt she was safe.

"I think that was enough excitement for one day, don't you think?" he asked her.

Kaida nodded and continued to try to meld her body against his. "I don't want that to happen again. I don't know why she acted like that."

"She just fought off a black mist that took her over. Could that have anything to do with it?"

Kaida forgot that it was just earlier that day they came face to face with the Dark Dimension. There was no way she planned to train again any time soon. Then, she slapped herself mentally for thinking it was a good idea to train the same day her dragon faced off and won against the evil force.

Beckett also did not know the information that she did about the black mist being the Dark Dimension. There was a lot she needed to fill him in on.

Kaida felt a warmth spread over her body, and clothes formed on her. She looked down, and there was a plain T-shirt and a pair of jeans on her with a pair of flats on her feet. Kaida looked over, and Adrien wiggled her fingers at her.

"You looked a little naked. I thought I'd help you out."

"Thank you," Kaida laughed.

Kaida looked back at Beckett. "I think we need to fill you in on some things."

"I think you do, too. But it might be best to discuss everything with your friends first. Fill me in later. Okay?"

Beckett booped her nose with his forefinger and gave her a smile. Kaida glared at him for a second but then gave him a smile back.

"Sounds good."

He leaned down and gave her a kiss that made her toes curl. Kaida fisted his shirt and leaned into it. A groan escaped Beckett's lips before he broke the kiss.

"I'm going to go before I steal you away and finish that. See you back at the house."

Kaida swatted him on his shoulder as he stepped away. Beckett waved at her friends and let his wings come out again. He was gone before she knew it.

"Damn. I want one of those," Remy said and bit her lip.

Everyone laughed, and Kaida looked back at where her mate flew off. "Can't say I blame you. It is kinda awesome."

"So, what happened?" Adrien's voice brought Kaida back to the group.

All four of them were now in a half circle around her. At any other time, this would have felt like they were trying to corner her. Kaida knew better than that. Her dragon poked her head up and paid attention to how they were approaching them, but Kaida was able to redirect her to simmer down and maybe take a nap.

"You tell me. Azulia's magic with the black tendrils set her off."

Azulia made a face and looked down at her feet. "Sorry. Shadow magic. It can look threatening if people don't know what it is. I guess your dragon thought so, too."

"Mhmm. She thought you were aligned with the Dark Dimension because of it. That isn't accurate, right?"

Azulia shook her head. "No, absolutely not. I can cross to the Unseelie realm because of the shadows, which draw their power from the Dark Dimension, but mine comes from nature. Like the Elemental Dragons. I just so happen to have the ability to use the shadows, too."

"That's why, I guess, she thought you were drawing from there because she felt the darkness attached to it."
