We all did.

Mum trusted Kat and now she's let us all down. We're in such a huge mess, I honestly don't see any way out of it.

"Why were you walking around the streets of Sydney shirtless?"

Col's question snaps me out of my thoughts. I look over and catch him lifting his head. Oh yeah, he was totally checking out my pec game.

I send him my flirtiest smile.

My troubles ain't going nowhere. They can wait until tomorrow. This tasty American treat, though, cannot.

"Why, serenading you of course, which, in case you weren't aware, is part of the VIP welcome committee package I've upgraded you to."

Col's lips stretch, and he's about to respond when our drinks and food arrive, bursting the moment. He helps himself to some fries and starts munching away.

"I was having drinks with friends from uni," I say, answering his original question before stuffing a few fries into my mouth.

"Youwent to college?"

I laugh. "Yeah, I went tocollege"—Why do Americans have a different word for everything?—"And I only had to fuck two professors to pass, so yay for me."

Col almost chokes on his drink again, before shaking his head at me, his dual-colored eyes gleaming. "You really are something else."

"I know. Don't be jealous."

That earns me even more head shaking.

Okay, screw answering his question. The answer isn't that interesting, anyway, mainly since I don't actually remember why I took my shirt off, only that it happened sometime after leaving my friends and getting lost on the way back to my own hotel.

Our eyes connect.

I seize the moment. "Why, am I picking up on a vibe here? Would you happen to be interested in me, Mr.…?"

"Langdon," he supplies, devouring a few more fries. "And yeah, there may be a vibe here. Mainly coming from you, though."

"Well picked up. You're observant. I like that." I lean in. My voice drops. "But rather than playing semantics with who's flirting with who, let me cut straight to the chase and say I'd happily accept an invite back to your hotel room. I hear it has an exquisite view."

He stops eating. "It's pretty shit, actually. Just a small alleyway mainly filled with trash cans."

"Where do you think I popped up from?"

Col snorts and looks at me like…like…like… I really can't tell what's going through his mind. His face is impossible to read.

He could be having a great time, which makes sense. He's in my company, and he's only human.

Or, he could simply be playing nice while secretly planning his escape route as soon as I get up to take a leak. At this point, it really could go either way.

"And what do you have in mindifI decide to invite you back to my hotel?"

Col lifts the glass to his mouth, but as soon as I start talking he smartly lowers it. That's probably for the best. Me talking is often a choking hazard.

I run my fingers along the rim of my hat as I begin speaking. "Well, I don't mean to sound arrogant or anything, but I don't just have a perfect face and a hot arse… I also have a massive cock."

He laughs again, louder this time, shaking his head.

"I'm serious, mate. It's so big, I can suck it myself."

"That's disgusting," a drunk guy spits out as he walks by us in a group of people.
