"Out with it, Thorn."

"I don't think it's a good idea for you to go. There have been a lot of complaints about Portsmill, and even the council is itching to get some more information about what's going on. Besides, it could bring up bad memories and trigger something."

I'm a little annoyed; he is protective, I get it, but this is my choice.

"Look, Thorn, you don't know what he's been through. He needs support, and I'm going to be there for him. Besides, I'm his mate I want to be there for him. There is nothing you can say that is going to change my mind."

"I understand what he went through, Paige. I probably know better than anyone."

"What does that mean?" That was ominous.

"Nothing. I'm just worried about you, and something just feels off."

Sitting down beside him, I lean my head on his shoulder. He wraps his arm around my shoulders and gives me a squeeze.

"I appreciate your concern, but I want to do this for Liam. He needs someone to be with him; I can't let him do it on his own."

"I don't like it."

"I know, but he's my mate, and I want to be there for him," I reiterate.

He groans as he goes to stand up.

"Seluna has one sick sense of humor, making him your mate. I don't think I punched him enough for what he did to you." Thorn can be an intimidating guy, but he loves me, and so long as I am happy, he is happy, in his Thorn kind of way.

"I'll meet you out front." Before he gets too far, I decide to be just a little mischievous.

"You know, I think you need to find a lady, someone to bring some happiness to your very drab world."

He turns slightly and raises an eyebrow. "My drab world is fine, thanks."

With that, he wanders out. I finish putting all my stuff in my bag and pull up the handle so I can roll it to the front door, but Quinn waddles in with a little bag.

"I brought you some snacks for the road. Some of your favorite candy and one of the new books from Millie's, just in case the drive is boring." I shake my head as I reach out to grab the bag from her, but as I touch her hand, she goes stock-still and looks off into space.

"Quinn? Quinn, what's wrong?" I drop the bag and try and get her attention. She takes in a gulping breath and leans over, trying to catch her breath. "I'm going to get Eli."

I'm just about to call out when Quinn pulls at my arm. "No, no, I'm fine; I just need to sit down."

I walk her over to the bed and help her sit. Running to the bathroom, I grab the glass and fill it with water. Coming back to her, she takes the glass and drinks half the cup.

"What the hell was that, Quinn?"

She half-chuckles and half-sighs while shaking her head.

"A vision."

I knew she could have them, but I have never seen her have one. "What was it about?"

She looks at me with tears in her eyes, but she's smiling. So is it good or bad? "It was about you."

"Me! What about me?" My heart is beating faster.

"Paige…you're pregnant."

"What! What the hell, Quinn? You can't know that. Besides, we just had sex. There is no way for you to know that."

"I know it sounds crazy, but I saw it. You were standing at my baby's birth with a baby bump. I'm having a boy." She is happy and happy-crying, I think, but I am stunned, shocked. I know her visions can come true, but really? I'm pregnant? My hand shakes as it goes to my stomach. I'm happy…I think.
