Everything was fucking breaking in my body. I needed to find her soon so she could glue me back together.

“I didn’t know this,” Vladislav said quietly.

“I know, but I need you to deal with this. If you don’t, I will, and you won’t fucking like it,” I hissed.

“Of course,” the other man said quietly. “I will take care of this.”

“Good.”

“She got to you, huh?”

“She didn’t get to me. She got to my wife.”

“I don’t mean Yuliya. I meant your wife. The nanny, yes?”

“What about her?” I asked. What business was it of his if she had been the nanny or not? She was my wife now. That was all that should matter to anyone, including her. Instead, she just picked her bag up and fucking ran.

“Nothing. Nothing.” The other man laughed.

“What’s so fucking funny now?” I snapped.

“Welcome to the other side, my boy.”

“What side is that?”

“Love, of course. It will make you do crazy things.”

Love. I scoffed. I just needed her back.

“It’s nothing of that sort.” I gritted through my teeth.

“Of course.” Vladislav chuckled again. I didn’t get the joke. “I will take care of things on my side. You just go find her.”

Hanging up on a man I respected very much, without a certain future between us, left me irate. I only hoped this damage was not irreversible.

The whiff of her clothes, when I opened the wardrobe to take mine, clenched at my lungs. This. This was why I didn’t do feelings. It was too damn restrictive. I buried my face in between her clothes, breathing her scent in and filling something inside.

Why are her clothes here?

I opened door after door and every drawer I could find. Full. I looked around. The only thing missing was the frame of her parents and now that I thought about it, one of Cora, which had stood right next to it. But the one with the both of us at our wedding reception still stood there screaming words I didn’t want to hear.

Stalking over to the little jewellery box on the chest of drawers, I opened it to find the garish wedding ring of my mother’s lying in it, neatly tucked in with the rest. Of course, she would leave that behind. I had never liked the gaudy thing, and it certainly didn’t fit with her fabulous style. I should have…

I didn’t think she had taken anything at all. Didn’t she want the rest of the money I promised her? How was she going to survive? The woman was a damn fool.

Sinking down onto the bed with the box, I touched the necklace I had got for her in Jaipur. My rough hands felt strange on it. She had looked gorgeous riding me that night, her caramel skin glowing even more than the jewels on her skin. That hot, humid night, she had moaned out my name, trailing a blaze to my dick as she came. That broken voice of hers could drench my skin anytime.

Where are you?

I should have put a fucking tracker on her. I should have kept her tied to my bed. Then I would know where she was. I wished I knew her well enough to know where she would go, except…

I did!

My head jerked up. I did know her well.

Fucking hell.

Getting up, I raced to get ready, calling out to Rosa to be with Cora. I didn’t trust her not to take a dive off the bed when she woke up, and when I brought Divya home, which I would, she would give me hell for that.
