Her green eyes stare up at me, dumbfounded by my answer. Tipping my head forward, I plant my lips on the apple of her cheeks, this time without her stopping me. “You don’t want to leave. We don’t want you to leave. So I took care of it for you. This is where you belong, here, with us.”
She lets out a heavy sigh, and I can tell she’s trying to decide whether or not she wants to be mad at me anymore. “For the record, that wasn’t okay, and I’m still mad.”
I huff out a laugh, “Okay, Baby.”
“And I want to pay rent.”
“Absolutely not.”
“But—”
“No. You’re not paying rent for an apartment we already own. This is your home now.”
“Are you sure about this?” Her voice is no more than a timid whisper now.
“More sure than I’ve ever been about anything.”
Harper stands up on her toes and touches her lips to mine. It’s the gentlest of kisses, but it stirs my blood just the same. “Thank you,” she says softly against my parted lips.
“You can bring up whatever stuff you want. Feel free to decorate or change anything here. It’s all yours, Baby. You just let us know, and we’ll get it done.”
“I don’t need to change anything. It’s fine the way it is.”
“Mo Grá, we could give two flying fucks about how this apartment is decorated. As long as you’re here, that’s all that matters,” Mac pipes up. Of course, now he chooses to speak when she’s no longer fuming.
Chicken shit.
Harper reaches out and points between the two of them. “Don’t you try to kiss my ass, too. You knew about this and didn’t tell me. You’re in just as much trouble as he is.”
Mac looks thoroughly offended, while Finn just smiles and takes another drink of his coffee.
“Would it make it better if I said we were going to Kings tonight?”
She whirls back on me, face beaming with excitement. “Oh my God. Really?”
“If you think you’re up for it.”
She’s practically bouncing. “Am I up for it? Of course, I am! But wait,” her face drops. “Is it a good idea? If it’s not safe, we don’t need to risk it.”
“It’ll be fine, Mo Grá. That’s why I went there this morning. Met with security and secured a ride with Ralph and his team.”
“Plus, Luca and his guys are meeting us there. You will be more than safe.”
She hesitantly looks between us. “It’s not just me I’m worried about. I don’t want him to get to you, too.”
“Trust me, Baby. We can handle ourselves. Let’s go out and have some fun before we have to go back to the real world on Monday, Yeah?”
Her smile beams. “Okay, yeah!”
I lean down so my mouth is next to her ear and whisper darkly. “And don’t forget when we get back, it’s just you and me. Hope you’re ready.”
Her breath hitches, and she runs her hands up my bare chest. “I’m more than ready, Baby.”
Fuck, I love when she calls me that.
My erection is now hard as steel beneath my pants, and judging by the way she’s wiggling in place, she can feel it pressing against her.
I growl and bite the lobe of her ear. “Later.”
