“Dude, do you want us here for this?” Brent says cringing.

“A dick pic better not be in that envelope.” Aiden smirks before sipping on his beer.

“Nah, and it’s something that I want you guys to see too. Here,” he says, handing me an envelope. “It only made sense that the house stayed in the family.”

I gasp and open the envelope. “You are the one who bought the beach house.” I can’t believe he thought enough of our family home to buy it like that.

“What good is my money if I can’t spend it on you? And besides, we had a lot of good times in that house. I want there to be many more. I plan on telling your mom that she’s welcome to go stay there as much as she wants. I’m not sure she will, but it’s an option if she’d like it to be.”

“Are you serious?” I ask, skimming the document. My eyes are filling with tears.

“Are you kidding me, man?” Aiden comes over and look at the papers I was just reviewing. “Dude, this is so awesome. I had no idea you were doing something like that.”

“In some ways, your parents raised me. They convinced my grandma to stop moving around on me and leave me somewhere stable where you guys were. I feel like I wouldn’t be here right now if it hadn’t been for your family. So, it was the very least I could do. I’ve never had a lot of people that I could call family. You guys are it.”

Aiden and I hug Derek. While we’re hugging, Brent snorts in the background.

“You do realize that out of both of those people that you say are your family, you’ve slept with half of them.”

“Don’t make it gross,” Derek says, flipping him the bird.

I shake my head. “I love you for doing this.”

“I’m happy to do anything that makes you happy.” He pulls me in for a hug and whispers low in my ear. “I also happen to remember that the house is where you and I started. I wanted to be able to go back to that place and celebrate anniversaries and other special occasions.”

I pull back and he winks at me. “I love that we can do that.”

“Maybe make that special time that we had there together an annual thing,” he continues. “Or use it for some time to have the band come out for a retreat or something.”

“Oh, you know we’re doing that,” Aiden chimes in.

“You guys are welcome to use it when you’d like to. I want you to feel like it’s still your home too.”

“That’s so nice of you,” Aiden says, clapping him on the back.

“Anything for this family, Ace.” The two hug and Brent makes a gagging sound.

“Alright, alight,” Dale says, coming into the room. “Let’s get you boys ready. There’s a packed house out there tonight, and everyone is excited to see my boys.”

I roll my eyes at Dale’s fakeness. He once told them that he has no sons, so he sees the band as his sons. I think that’s garbage and just his way of being slimy like other managers in LA. But I have to give him somewhat of a pass because he was a big help when the deck was stacked against the band. He could have dropped them, but he didn’t.

“Audrey, you watching from the wings, or should we put you in the VIP area?”

“She’ll be in the wings,” Derek answers for me.

“Alright, if that changes, just let me know. The view from the wings is cool, but it’s also awesome to see them from out there in the crowd. Security will keep you safe either way.”

“Thanks, I appreciate it,” I say with a smile. At least he tries to be helpful to me at times.

We all make our way to the stage, where the opening act has already finished a little while ago. The fans are chanting their name. They are so ready for my boys to hit the stage. I turn and give Brent a big hug.

“You’re going to be wonderful out there,” I tell him.

“Aw, thanks, sis.” He picks me up and hugs me tightly. “I’ll see you after the show.”

“See ya,” I tell him. I move onto Aiden next. “I love you, big brother. Have a great show.”

“Thanks, I love you. I’m glad you’re here.”
