“Yeah,” Frankie and I both answered at the same time. He gave my hand a reassuring squeeze, but I was more worried about coming all over myself in the middle of a public beach.

“Great.” Matty bounced his head side to side, then linked arms with Frankie, tugging him out of my hold and toward the hotel. They were two paces ahead of us when I heard him say, “I have some great ideas about new ways to cuck that gorgeous boyfriend of yours.”

Beside me, Sharp groaned and sighed in the same breath.

“Are you ready for this?” he asked.

I looked toward him, admiring the angular features of his profile that somehow made him look old and boyish at the same time. He was handsome in a different sort of way. Matty looked like an angel who would get off on making you cry, and Sharp looked like a devil who wanted to lick your cum off the floor.

Both of them bringing a twisted and exciting promise to the table.

“Yeah.” I squared my shoulders, narrowing my eyes at Matty and Frankie, who were already on the boardwalk and nearing the hotel. “I’m ready if you are.”

SURE THING

BY MIGNON MYKEL

CHAPTER ONE

LENNOX

Social media has not done Justin Weigand justice.

I’m almost convinced the only reason I know the man standing in front of me is indeed my former host family “brother,” is because he’s holding a sign saying “Lennox Campbell — You didn’t get enough of us?”

That, and his grin is the same cocky, crooked one he had when he was twenty-one.

“Justin,” I say his name, fighting a smile of my own, as I step closer to his six-three frame. September in Denver is cooler than September in Melbourne. I traded late spring for late autumn, but while I’m chilled by the drop in temperature, Justin’s tan skin is showing off against the dark short-sleeve t-shirt he wears.

“Lennox.” He folds his sheet of paper in half, then again, before stuffing it into the back pocket of his denim jeans. “Welcome back to Colorado.”

“Happy to be here.” I adjust the single strap of my pack up my shoulder. “How’d you get stuck with airport duty?”

When he extends one of his hands, I allow him to take my rolling suitcase. I was too stressed to check luggage and instead, relied on my bag and roller. My sister, Layne, said she’d post the rest of my important items when I give her my new address.

Otherwise, I don’t have any furniture or heavy knick knacks I need from home.

Nothing worth shipping.

“Liv’s first day of classes were Monday, so she couldn’t be here, and Mom and Bill are waiting on Rilee and Noah to get out of classes. Mom also wanted to put together your favorite dinner. So,” he holds an arm out, “you’re stuck with me.”

I wouldn’t necessarily use a word such as ‘stuck,’ in relation to time with this man, as that has negative connotations.

There’s nothing negative about being forced into Justin Weigand’s orbit.

I thought he was handsome the very first moment I saw him, back when I was all of seventeen.
