“Why wear underwear? I hear it makes things easier,” Niles said as he picked up his drink.

“After the baby’s here, I’ll stop wearing them again.”

Niles choked on his drink. “You guys are sick.”

“Ignore him. He’s just jealous.”

“Hey, I’m getting some. As a matter of face, Bailey’s preg–”

“Niles Douglas.” Bailey walked through the front door carrying their thirteen-month-old son in her arms.

“Oops.”

“You spill your guts just because they question your manhood.”

“Yep. I’m not proud.” Niles slowly kissed Bailey and then took their son, Rylie, out of her arms to blow a raspberry on his neck. The baby giggled at his father.

“How’s it going?” Bailey studied the room. “Not so good, right?”

“Right.” Angie shook her head. “For two guys who own a construction company, you’d think they could put together a simple crib.”

“It’s not simple,” both men said in unison.

Bailey and Angie laughed as they headed to the baby’s room. “What do you think?”

Bailey’s mouth dropped. “I love it.”

“Jeremy drew it.” Angie’s eyes misted as she surveyed the room. Jeremy had hand-drawn two intertwined daisies on the large wall above where the baby’s crib would go.

“It’s beautiful.” Bailey wiped a tear from her eye. “Damn hormones.”

“What the fuck?” Niles walked in and then glared at Jeremy when he joined them. “You’ve upstaged me again. First, at my own wedding, and now here. Shit. I’m going to have to draw some tulips on the baby’s wall.”

Jeremy wrapped his arms around Angie and caressed her belly. “I can’t help it. Your sister makes me a better man.”

Angie leaned against him and sighed. She’d finally wore him down, and he’d agreed that if she didn’t have the baby before graduation, they could get started on their family earlier.

Graduation day had been the weekend before, and their first baby was due to be born in seven weeks. No more waiting. It was time to grab everything she desired and live life to the fullest. Every day, she thanked her lucky stars that he’d claimed her for his own.
