"Fuck!" Beau curses and moves in front of me as he tucks himself away, trying to hide his father's view of me. "How the hell did you get in here? I locked the door!"

Peeking over Beau's shoulder, I see Bain hold a key up. "You really should do your homework more, Son. We acquired this building a year ago." Bain's wearing a cynical grin now, but then it drops into a glare. "You and yoursister,"—he enunciates with a sneer—"better clean yourselves up and get your asses back to the reception!"

Bain turns and walks out. We hear him lock the door from the outside before his steps fade. Of course, he doesn't want anyone walking in on us. I don't realize I'm shaking until I go to sit up and pull my dress back in place. Beau remains with his back to me, only now, his head hangs.

He tenses briefly when I touch his shoulder, but he then turns and pulls me to him. "I am so sorry, Ryan." His voice is low and raspy. "I don't know how we will ever get him to be okay with us."

"Who the fuck cares? He can't stop us from being together," I tell him and try to pull back, but he doesn't allow it.

His arms tighten around me. "Yeah, maybe…"

"Come on, let's get back out there before he sends a task force next." I try to make light of it, but it doesn't work.

I quickly clean myself up, then kiss Beau thoroughly before slipping out before him. There isn't a person in sight as I make my way back to the Reception Hall. Taking my place at the head table, my mother and Bain are in a heated conversation as they smile and nod at guests who pass by the table.

Beau walks into the Hall and goes straight for the open bar. Even though he's not of age, they don't say no to the owner's son when he orders a beer. Bain wants to go to him, but my mother stops him. Tension is thick for a while, but the music starts, and the DJ's voice comes over the speakers announcing the first dances.

I'm excited because I'm about to dance with Beau, until the DJ's next words take it all away. "Because the Wedding Party are now siblings, and nobody ever wants to dance with their brother or sister, the groom suggests we skip that dance."

I hear my mother gasp beside me, and I scoff, "Fucking figures."

"Ryan!" my mother hisses but begs me to be quiet with her eyes.

I look past her to see the smug look on her new husband's face, and all I want to do is stab him in the eye with my fork. My fingers curl around the piece of silver, but my mother's hand covers mine. It takes everything I have to not walk out of the reception. Beau has already disappeared again, so as my mom and Bain get up to share in their first dance, I sit alone at the table.

I refused to go to Bain's house even though that's where my mom will be. We aren't selling our house, and for that, I'm thankful. I can't sell it because all my memories of my dad are here. Will I miss my mom? Very much so, but we will see each other still, and I promised to stay at the mansion on the weekends when she doesn't work.

Of course, there is no need for Lacey Huntley to work anymore, but my mother loves her work and refuses to quit. Bain isn't too keen on the idea, and he may eventually talk her into leaving her career behind. There are things about Bain that really irk me, and his whole attitude about me and Beau is ridiculous.

Walking into my empty house after the reception, I look around, and memories flood me. I can't even deal with all this right now. I rush to my room and strip out of my dress. Not bothering to find anything to wear to sleep in, I crawl under the cover and let sleep take me.

I'm woken just after midnight when a weight settles down on my bed. I freeze momentarily because all I can smell is liquor, but then a hand reaches out and caresses my head. The touch is all too familiar, and I turn to see Beau's silhouette sitting there.

"Beau…"

"Hey baby…"

"Are you okay?" I sit up and reach for the lamp by my bed, but he stops me.

"No, don't…"

"Don't be ridiculous," I push his hand away and tap the button.

A warm glow lights the small area, and I gasp as soon as I look at Beau. His face is swollen, and he has a bleeding lip. There is a small cut above his eye that may need stitches. Not caring that I'm naked, I hurry to the bathroom and grab the first aid kit my mom always ensured I had under the sink.

"What the fuck happened? Who did this to you?" I cry out.

"It's nothing, baby, stop fussing. You should see the other guy." He chuckles and tries to lie down, but I stop him.

"Do not lay down until I have checked you out!"

He falls to the mattress anyway, and I try to get him up, but he's dead weight. How the hell did he get here? I hope he didn't drive! He is sloshed and about to pass out. So, before I tend to his cuts, I remove his shoes before he can do just that. When I start undoing his tuxedo pants, he thrusts his hips into the air.

"Are you trying to take advantage of me, Ry?" His drunk chuckle is adorable but annoying all at once.

"No, babe. Now, can you help me before you pass out?"

I get no response, and when I look at him, he's already gone and passed out on me.Just fucking great! Struggling to get his pants off, I finally succeed and start working on his face. The one good thing about Beau being here, even in his drunken state, is that I'm not alone anymore. After putting everything away, I curl up beside Beau and find sleep again, snuggled up to the man I love.
