"It's a deal." He gives me his baby boy smile, but it really isn't anything to smile about on my end as I think back to a year ago.

"Get on your knees and suck me, Ryan. I hear you're good at it, and you will suck any cock for a score." Lance dangles the bag of little white pills in front of me, but I don't budge.

"Bye, Lance. It was nice seeing you…not." I turn to walk away, but I'm grabbed and shoved to my knees.

"You're going to fucking suck me off before you leave this house, Ryan!" Lance pulls his cock out, and the only thing that runs through my head is the song Short Dick Man. I laugh, but when he tries to shove it into my mouth, I punch him right between the legs.

Lance drops like a fly, and I run from the room.

I've never told a soul that story except for Brock, and that's why I was so pissed that he would take me there again. This was just a year ago that it happened, so it's still pretty fresh. I'll be fine as long as Brock doesn't leave my side.

"You do realize that you are now playing the boyfriend role? You owe me this, at least," I tell him.

"Do I get to kiss you?" He grins playfully.

I roll my eyes and smile. "Well, if we want people to believe it, then you have to, don't you think?"

"Just checking, Ry…" He turns the corner and pulls into Lance's driveway.

Cars line the street on both sides, and people are already hanging out on the front porch. Great, that's just what I need right now. I wanted to leave here before the party picked up because it's still early. No such

luck.

It’s not even dusk out, and partygoers are already three sheets to the wind as we walk into Lance’s house. I grab hold of Brock’s hand and hold on tight. A few kids from my school eye me warily and then return to whatever they were doing. I find it funny that a few of the people here have actually laughed at me while Beau was making fun of my extracurricular activities, and yet, here they are, some even doing lines off the table.

I roll my eyes at them and tuck the information away to use if needed. I don’t like to be a narc, but I will do whatever is necessary if it helps me escape the line of fire regarding school. There are way too many people who like to live a double life, show people what they want to see, and then turn around and do exactly what they frown at others for. I don’t have time for the likes of people like that. Therefore, I keep to myself.

“Brock…buddy! What’s up man…who do you have with…” Lance’s voice drifts off as soon as our eyes meet.

I don’t say hello. The only indication I give that shows any acknowledgment towards the host is the cocking of my brow. I dare him to say a word to or about me, but instead, he only glares briefly before turning his attention back to Brock.

“I take it you’re not staying long then?” Lance glances my way before looking at Brock.

“No, sorry, man. I have other obligations, but I wanted to stop and drop off your order.” Brock’s voice is low as he informs Lance of this.

“I appreciate it, man.” Lance holds his hand up, and Brock grips it in some kind of handshake or high five or some shit like that. “Follow me…”

Brock pulls me behind him until we reach a hallway, and Lance spins around. “She stays here.”

“What the fuck, man? Ry is my girl.” Brock lays his arm across my shoulders, “She goes where I go.”

Before Lance can argue, I speak up, “No, it’s okay. I’ll wait here for you.”

“Are you sure, baby?” Brock lays it on thick.

I smile. “Of course. I’ll be fine.”

Brock, being the smartass that he is, grips the back of my neck and pulls me in, kissing me hard. His tongue pushes its way into my mouth, and I let it. After all, it’s supposed to look natural. Brock is a great kisser, but I have to remind myself that he’s also a great friend, and although we have kissed before, I don’t need to lead him on, so I pull away and smile. This isn't me needing a fix, and that is the only time that I ever kiss my friend.

“Go. Hurry up, so we can get out of here.” I wink at him.

My friend bites his lip and looks me up and down. “Don’t leave this spot.”

“I won’t, I promise.” I shoo him away and watch him follow Lance down the darkened hallway and into a room at the end of the hall.

Lance holds the door open for Brock but stares my way. A creepy grin forms on his face, but he disappears into the room. I cross my arms over my chest and lean against the wall as a slight chill takes hold. I can hear the blaring music coming from the other room, and a few partygoers pass by on their way to the bathroom. There is nothing I can do but wait here for Brock to finish his deal.
