“How about we make a pitstop there so you two can meet in person? I mean, we can’t stay long, but we certainly can be there for a few hours.” She looks at me, her mouth open and then she throws herself on me. To be fair, the plane is going up in the air, so I am sure some of that was her being propelled, but hell, why not take advantage of it?

“Oh my God yes. Thank you so much. I am going to message her and make sure it is alright.”

While she is chatting with her, I have Carlos bring us some sodas and a small lunch. When she is done, she turns to me, smiling from ear to ear. “She said yes, and she is so excited to meet me.” I feel ten feet tall, knowing I can give her something like that.

You are now free to move among the cabin. Thank fuck. Standing, food and drinks forgotten, I pull her into my arms and into the bedroom that is on the plane. We’ve gotten so good at this. We strip naked, and I’m inside of her before my next breath. She meets me thrust for thrust. I fill her with my seed yet again. Knocking her up is my only goal. I just want to love her forever. Why is she being so damn stubborn?

As she lies in my arms, I decide to put all the cards on the table. “I want this, Feb. I want this with you for the rest of our lives.” She says nothing for a few minutes; her hands just continue rubbing my chest, and then she looks up at me.

“How do we know we didn’t just get swept up in the adventure and the magic of it all? How do we know this is real, Con?” I look at her like she is crazy before telling her the honest to God's truth that I have been holding in for a year.

“I have been in love with you from the moment you walked into my office for the interview. Why do you think I hired you?” For once, I think I shocked her. Good. Maybe now she will stop pushing me away. Or maybe not.

CHAPTER THIRTEEN

FEBRUARY

“Oh, My God. It’s so nice to meet you,” I cry into March’s hair. We are jumping up and down, hugging.

“I know. You’re exactly like I thought you’d be.”

We don’t have a lot to spend in Memphis, but March and I make it count. We talk about everything from birth to now. How we managed to squeeze that in two hours, I’ll never know. I’ve also never drank so much sweet tea before, but we did. I met my adorable niece, Juniper, too. Could my life get any fuller?

“Come visit me in Kanas City this summer when Juni is out of school. We’ll have more time.”

“We’d like that, wouldn’t we, Juni?” March asks her daughter.

“Yes, Mommy.”

“Okay. We should be heading to the airport.” Connall sat quietly in the corner on his phone while we visited.

“Bye-bye, Auntie February.”

“Bye-bye, Juni. See you soon.”

“Bye, sister,” March says, hugging me.

“Bye, sister.”

We leave, and I’m crying. They are happy tears, but I’m crying, nonetheless.

“Good visit?”

“Yes. Thank you, Connall.”

“You’re welcome, babe.”

“You didn’t have to do that. I really appreciate it.”

“I’d do anything for you.”

“You would, wouldn’t you?”

“Yes,” he kisses me, and I lose it. I am so in love with him. Why can’t I just tell him how I feel? I vow to get over myself and tell the man that I can barely breathe without him…
